‘Be offended’: Matt Gaetz describes ‘ugliness’ of pro-abortion women, reporter hears ‘ugly & overweight’

There was a time in America when free speech was valued and while people may have disapproved of what you were saying, they would defend to the death your right to say it. That was a time when being offended was not treated like a national tragedy and people understood the value of simply turning off or walking away from that which they did not wish to hear.

America today is a far different place, which explains the pearl-clutching reaction to U.S. Rep. Matt Gaetz opining on the appearances of pro-abortion women.

Gaetz is back in the headlines after essentially doubling down on an earlier comment when WEAR-TV reporter Olivia Iverson questioned him about those remarks at an event in Pensacola, Florida.

“I’m very pro-life,” Gaetz said on Monday. “I make no apology for it, and I’m grateful that Roe has been overturned and that Dobbs is now the jurisprudence on abortion. And I find these people who got out in these pro-abortion, pro-murder rallies odious, and just like, ugly on the inside and out. And I make no apology for it.”

“The ones that are out there protesting, marching outside Justice Kavanaugh’s home, trying to threaten the court, trying to impose ‘a night of rage’ on our nation’s capital, which is what they advertised, it’s just pure ugliness,” he continued. “And I see that ugliness on the inside, I see it on the outside.”

Iverson then asked in a follow-up, “Is it safe to say that based off of your comments, you’re suggesting that these women at these abortion rallies are ugly and overweight?”

“Yes,” Gaetz replied, without missing a beat.

“What do you say to people who think that those comments are offensive?” the reporter asked.

“Be offended,” he said.

And offended they were — “they” being the liberal media who blasted the “astonishingly misogynistic take.” Then again, the real offense here is most likely Gaetz’s ardent pro-life stance.

Last week, while speaking at the Turning Point USA Student Action Summit in Tampa, Gaetz set off a liberal firestorm when he commented on pro-abortion women, as seen in the second video above.

“Why is it that the women with the least likelihood of getting pregnant are the ones most worried about having abortions? Nobody wants to impregnate you if you look like a thumb,” he said.

Not couth, perhaps, but the world did not come to an end back when legendary comedian George Carlin uttered a similar remark: “Why is it that most of the people who are against abortion are people you wouldn’t want to f*ck in the first place?”

With a frail, very old President Biden overseeing 40-year high inflation and sky-high gas prices, not to mention an invasion along our southern border, the likes of which America has never seen before in its history, one might think the media would have more pressing things to focus on.
