Conservative commentator Ben Shapiro ripped Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) over her rift with President Donald J. Trump, accusing the congresswoman of trying to position herself as the leader of a “splinter effort” to “take control” of MAGA and “always playing the victim.”
The longtime Trump ally has become a Democrat darling for her criticism of the president’s foreign policy, the shutdown, and her demands for the release of the Jeffrey Epstein files, a turn to the left that finally crossed the line with Trump, who pulled his support from the “ranting lunatic” and said that he’d be open to supporting a primary challenger.
On Monday’s edition of “The Ben Shapiro Show,” the Daily Wire founder gave his take on the ugly public split and MTG’s recent flurry of appearances on left-wing media, which has attacked her for years but is happy to make amends now that she can be used as a tool to divide Trump’s base, a role that she has eagerly embraced.

In a Sunday appearance on CNN’s “State of the Union,” Greene sickeningly apologized to anchor Dana Bash for her past rhetoric and accused Trump of putting a target on her back by branding her as a “traitor” in a post to Truth Social.
Shapiro read a part of the Georgia Republican’s lengthy X post responding to Trump before calling her out.
“Always playing the victim, Marjorie Taylor Greene,” he said, before turning to the House lawmaker’s media tour.
“Marjorie Taylor Greene has been attempting to run essentially her own knockoff version, her Temu version, of MAGA,” Shapiro told his audience. “She has been out retailing it to The View, she has been out retailing it to CNN, and MSNBC, she has become the hot new thing in the legacy media.”
“You know, the Jewish space lasers lady, that lady is the hot new thing with regard to the legacy media,” he added. “They now have a strange new respect for Marjorie Taylor Greene, because she has decided that she is going to attack Trump full-time.”
Shapiro also suggested that Greene’s “ridiculous” belief that Trump had been resisting the release of the files because the dead pedophile had ties to Israeli intelligence was rooted in antipathy for the Jewish state and for Jewish people in general.
“She’s just putting that out there, no evidence whatsoever, because she doesn’t like Israel,” he said. “And also because she has some peculiar views, shall we say, about Jews.”
“None of these people were screaming bloody murder about the Epstein files when Joe Biden was president of the United States,” Shapiro added, pointing out the flaming hypocrisy of Democrats and their GOP dupes like MTG and Rep. Thomas Massie of Kentucky.
“President Trump comes on the scene, doesn’t do the foreign policy they want, and suddenly they start screaming at the top of their lungs about the Epstein files,” he said.
“Wacky Marjorie ‘Traitor’ Brown (Remember, Green turns to Brown where there is ROT involved!) is working overtime to try and portray herself as a victim when, in actuality, she is the cause of all of her own problems. The fact is, nobody cares about this Traitor to our Country!” Trump wrote in a weekend post to Truth Social before flipping the script and calling for House Republicans to vote in favor of releasing the files.
