Bette Midler threw an absolute conniption fit over losing her coveted “blue check” Twitter verification and took to the social media platform to let Chief Twit Elon Musk have it.
Not only did the radical left actress and recording artist attack Musk, she essentially took credit for propping Twitter up all these years — who knew???
“Elon took my blue check away! I’m unverified! After all these years and thousands of tweets and free content, this worm has the nerve to de-certify me!” Midler spewed.

And she wasn’t finished with her tantrum or her vile attacks on Musk, as if she needed to prove just how miserable a human being she is.
In a follow-up, Midler again billed herself as someone “who has contributed mightily” to the platform, before calling Musk a “pathetic douche” and trying to rub his nose into Thursday’s SpaceX rocket failure.
“Elon, deciding that I’m not me, I’m a fake, & obliging ME, who has contributed mightily to your platform, (at least until you ‘tweaked the algorithm & tanked my metrics’) to pay monthly because you don’t have enough money & you’re humiliated b/c everyone thinks you’re a pathetic douche, is the funniest thing you’ve ever done. Let that sink in. Sorry to hear about your rocket,” Midler tweeted.

SpaceX launched the Starship rocket, the most powerful ever built, on an unpiloted maiden flight Thursday and after soaring for more than two minutes the rocket began tumbling out of control before exploding.
Musk, the founder and CEO of SpaceX, took the failure in stride as he monitored the launch from the company’s control center in Boca Chica, Texas.
“Congrats @SpaceX team on an exciting test launch of Starship! Learned a lot for next test launch in a few months,” he tweeted.

Twitter announced a while back that accounts with legacy blue checks awarded by previous management would have to subscribe to Twitter Blue, which requires an $8 monthly fee, to keep their blue checks.
“Twitter’s current lords & peasants system for who has or doesn’t have a blue checkmark is bullshit. Power to the people! Blue for $8/month,” Musk tweeted in Nov. 2022, of the old process.
Musk drew headlines last week when Twitter removed the New York Times’s blue check, and while the deadline for legacy accounts was last week, the social media platform began removing blue checks en masse on Thursday with even Donald Trump losing his badge.
In a hysterical move, the popular Carpe Donktum account set up a GoFundMe page to help Midler with the $8 fee — in a quick follow-up, social media users were told that the $8 goal had been hit and that all other donations would go to a charity. The total stood at $114, as of this writing:
Dear Bette,
I heard the tragic news, and I couldn’t stand by and watch you suffer. I have set up a gofundme to raise the $8 for your blue checkmarkAny money raised OVER that amount will go to a charity choosen by @elonmusk

Here’s a quick sampling of other responses to the story from Twitter:
Imagine being this much of a Narcissist that you think you should just have it because you are famous. Here is a thought start your own social media company where you can verify and validate yourself all day long

I didn’t even know she was still alive, much less on Twitter.
