Betting market changes course, puts Kamala at better odds of winning than Trump

Former President Donald Trump is lagging behind Vice President Kamala Harris in the betting market for the first time.

According to BetUS, Harris has a 55% implied probability of winning, surpassing Trump for the first time since the platform opened the market. The two candidates had previously been locked in a neck-and-neck race over the weekend.

Likewise, PolyMarket also has Harris at favorable odds with 51% and PredictIt has her at a massive 59% while Trump lags behind with 43%.

Tim Williams, director of public relations at BetUS, noted how quickly the odds changed following Harris being thrust into the presidential race.

“Not only is Harris now leading in the betting odds, but she is also leading in terms of the total number of wagers placed and total dollar volume bet so far, which is an impressive feat considering she only became the official nominee a week ago,” he told Fox Business.

“I personally wouldn’t have expected so much money to have been bet on Kamala so quickly, but here we are.”

Williams notes that Harris is also receiving bigger wagers, which he says is indicative of the “sharp money” of professional betters.
