Actor Ian Ziering was viciously attacked and beaten by mini-bikers after a traffic altercation in Los Angeles on New Year’s Eve, predictably ending the year on a violent note.
A video of the altercation obtained by TMZ immediately went viral and showed the 59-year-old “Beverly Hills 90210” actor being beaten and kicked by the assailants Sunday on Hollywood Boulevard.
Witnesses told TMZ that they believed Ziering’s car might have been hit before the fight broke out as the gang of mini-bikers weaved in and out of traffic.
The fight started with a confrontation involving one mini-biker whom Ziering allegedly hit after he got out of his car. He was one of the guys who allegedly hit the actor’s vehicle. Several other mini-bikers joined in to jump Ziering at that point. As he was chased and pummeled, the Ghirardelli Soda Fountain & Chocolate Shop was visible in the background.
Video caught the actor fighting back after running across the street to escape his attackers. He kicked and pushed off one of them who just kept on coming back to thrash him some more. The fight continued ironically onto the Hollywood Walk of Fame, according to the Daily Mail.

Dozens of people just stood and watched. They gaped and videoed but did nothing to help Ziering in a scene more reminiscent of New York City than Los Angeles… or at least it used to be.
According to the Daily Mail, it is unclear if anyone was arrested in connection to the assault as of Sunday evening. TMZ is reporting that “an official report” lists the actor “as the victim” of the attack. Police claim they are investigating the incident and are in touch with those involved.
“Ziering was able to get back into his vehicle and depart the scene, sources told the outlet, while the group of mini-bikers also abruptly left the scene after the violent incident,” the Daily Mail noted.
“We’re told this beatdown ended with Ian getting back in his car and driving off … ditto for the bikers, who got the hell out of there. It doesn’t appear cops were called — so you could say it was left in the streets. Not to make light, but this pretty is ‘Sharknado’-coded, no?” TMZ quipped.

Ziering has reportedly not addressed the attack on social media yet.
The cast of “Beverly Hills 90210” has had a rough year.
Actress Shannen Doherty underwent surgery to have a tumor removed from her brain in January. She was initially diagnosed in 2015 with breast cancer and in 2020 told her fans that she had been diagnosed with stage four breast cancer. Doherty also shared that she was in the middle of a divorce in April, citing “irreconcilable differences” with her now ex-husband, Kurt Iswarienko.

Ziering gave an interview to People in December asserting his co-star “has always been a fighter,” and is “really an incredible woman.”
“It’s not over. She’s got a long road in front of her. She’s so courageous and strong, and stands as a role model to those that are facing similar adversities,” the actor said of Doherty.
Another co-star, Tori Spelling, has also had serious financial problems over the last year with unstable living arrangements, illness, and her separation from estranged husband Dean McDermott, according to the Daily Mail.

Let’s be real. Mini bike riders or not. Would be hard to fight multiple people wearing helmets. Also we’ve become such a voyeur society, it’s pathetic.
