Criticism continues to rain down on Vice President Kamala Harris after last week’s Beyoncé ‘performance’ that never materialized.
The music star appeared in her hometown of Houston to boost the Democratic nominee, endorsing Harris in a speech and then exiting without ever singing a note.
Angry rallygoers felt they had been duped by the campaign into believing they would be seeing a Beyoncé performance and the fallout has continued for days since the event. In a lengthy thread on social media, one X account posted: “Beyoncé-gate is real, it’s a problem, and the Democrats and Harris campaign know it.”

“So let me get this straight, Kamala Harris baited people with a free Beyoncé concert and then had Willie Nelson perform,” one X user wrote on the platform, echoing the sentiments of many. “Talk about a bunch of pissed-off concert-goers.”
“Kamala needed to make a splash,” the thread from @NewRebelRecords contended, saying the “play” was to “bring Beyoncé to endorse her in Houston.”
First of all, the context.
With Trump visiting Texas Friday for a sit down with Joe Rogan, Kamala needed to make a splash.
The play: bring Beyoncé to endorse her in Houston.
And the news was spread – but was it going to be more than just an endorsement?

The media did its part in drumming up the hype. The anticipation escalated as Harris supporters were convinced a performance by the Grammy Award winner was soon to unfold.
But when no concert materialized, many rallygoers reportedly left the venue in frustration.
“Now, assuming the plan never meant to include a performance, how did the media get it so wrong?” the thread continued, listing 3 reasons. The media had a wrong assumption or were “misled” by the Harris-Walz campaign. In another scenario, it was suggested that the media “coordinated with the campaign to mislead the public.”

There are 3 possibilities:
1. They just assumed it would
2. They were misled by the campaign to believe it would
3. They coordinated with the campaign to mislead the public6/9

“Recent history seems to indicate that the likely answer is 2 or 3,” the post read. “Either way, they intentionally lied to the Democrat voter base in order to gin up interest in the rally – a rally with higher than usual stakes given it was up against Trump-Rogan.”
“But the high profile nature of this lie could have serious repercussions,” the thread continued. “Average Dem voters are PISSED. And you can tell because the true believers are out desperately trying to debunk the bait and switch.”
A video included in the thread showed one black Texas woman declaring, “Beyoncé, we don’t give a d*mn about you!”
“For you to come out here and try to finesse the black vote for a politician who don’t even have no plans for your community goes to show us how much you care about your own people!” she said.
Will this matter come Election Day? Who knows.
But given the collapsing enthusiasm for Harris, and the subsequent decline in the polls, it’s entirely possible that a growing percentage of frustrated Dems stay home – a disaster for the Ds up and down the ballot.
