The Biden administration placed illegal migrants into taxpayer-funded hotel suites with comfortable accommodations, according to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) contracting documents obtained by conservative group America First Legal.
Illegal migrants must have access to a number of comfortable accommodations, including room service and child care, while under the care of eligible “service providers,” according to the documents, which were obtained via a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request. The requirements for some of the illegal migrants include that the “service provider” must provide “meat based courses” at every meal, which is delivered to each illegal migrants’ rooms, “24-hour access” to drinks and snacks, television programming in both English and Spanish and mattresses of a certain thickness.
Mattresses are required to be at least 4 inches thick, and, if that product isn’t available and the illegal migrant isn’t comfortable, the “service provider” must provide two smaller mattresses, the documents show.
The contracts also instructed that illegal migrants not be referred to as “prisoners, detainees, aliens or inmates.” They also included child care and laundry services.
There’s been record numbers of migrants crossing the U.S.-Mexico border with nearly 2.3 million migrants encountered by federal authorities in fiscal year 2022. The Biden administration began offering the contracts in 2021 as a response to the surge, providing a place for migrants to be housed while they awaited immigration proceedings.
The hotels were located in Texas and Arizona, according to the documents.

Several Republican lawmakers condemned the finding, including Arizona Rep. Andy Biggs, who asked Monday on Twitter: “Is there anything Joe Biden isn’t giving illegal aliens at this point?”
“In #BidensAmerica illegal immigrants get free room service while Americans can hardly afford their grocery bills. #Bidenflation,” Texas Rep. Louie Gohmert wrote on Twitter Monday.
The Biden administration used taxpayer dollars to pay for illegal immigrants’ hotel rooms, laundry service, babysitters, and even room service.
