During his ruinous White House tenure, President Joe Biden has presided over the worst inflation in four decades, spiraling gas prices and out-of-control food, housing, and utility costs but to hear him tell it, the nation is experiencing an unprecedented period of economic prosperity. But he’s not fooling Ron DeSantis.
On Wednesday, the octogenarian Democrat campaigned in Chicago, the crime-ridden city where his party will hold its nominating convention next summer, and in a campaign speech, the teller of tall tales boasted to the crowd that “Bidenomics is working,” using a term that was initially coined to describe his failed policies, and much like his party has done with the word “democracy,” has been repurposed to gaslight the gullible.
The Florida governor and 2024 GOP presidential candidate fact-checked Biden during an appearance on Wednesday afternoon’s edition of “The Story” where he laid out the reasons why Joe’s just spreading another load of malarkey to Fox News anchor Martha MacCallum.

“I can tell you what Bidenomics is Martha, it is everybody pays more for basic staples of life,” DeSantis began. “People are paying way more for groceries, they’re paying way more for other necessities like utilities, the cost of buying a new home has gone up dramatically because all the materials have gone up, and so in Florida, we’re responsible for a lot of these jobs because we’ve defied his policies.”
“We had our state open, we have low taxes, we have a very strong regulatory climate favorable for businesses. And so you’ve seen us grow. You’ve seen other red states grow. Most of those jobs he’s talking about are jobs that came back after the COVID lockdowns,” he continued, laying out a fact check that the media will never acknowledge. “They weren’t necessarily over and above what a normal economy would do.”
“And he is wrong on energy. His vision to not have domestic energy production is going to lead to the average family paying more for energy,” he added, noting that there will be a price to pay for the implementation of Biden’s extreme climate agenda. “It’s going to make them poorer, and if you think about he’s talking about global warming, all this stuff. China builds a new coal-powered, coal-fired plant like every week. What is the administration doing and their allies in state and local governments? They’re trying to stop coal-fired pizza shops from being able to operate in New York City.”
“They have all this backwards,” he added, “and I think at the end of the day the average working person knows it’s harder to make ends meet with Joe Biden as president.”
“Joe Biden’s lies about the economy are a slap in the face to working families across the country struggling to get by,” said DeSantis campaign spokesman Andrew Romeo in a statement.
