Biden-era FBI tracked Melania and Barron Trump’s movements, Susie Wiles’ calls

The Biden-era FBI kept tabs on Melania and Barron Trump and future White House chief of staff Susie Wiles’ phone calls in 2022, according to declassified documents released by the White House on Monday.

Movements by the first lady and President Donald J. Trump’s youngest son were tracked by the Christopher Wray-led Bureau as it plotted out the unprecedented storming of the family’s South Florida residence at Mar-a-Lago to seize the classified documents that would be the basis of one of former special counsel Jack Smith’s cases against Trump.

The secretive surveillance was conducted as part of the investigation known as “Plasmic Echo,” which also snooped on Wiles’ phone to monitor her calls with attorneys, journalists and campaign advisers.

“Operational planning emails from late May 2022, uncovered in the trove of declassified documents Monday, reveal that agents prepared for the Mar-a-Lago warrant execution using pre-raid checklists that explicitly required agents to ‘finalize FBI understanding of FPOTUS/FLOTUS/minor son’s travel (type of aircraft and specific timeline),'” Fox News reported.

“Any search warrants would be served after the former President departs Mar a Lago,” a June 1, 2022 document from a declassified FBI internal email thread stated, according to Fox News.

The feds raided Mar-a-Lago on Aug. 8, 2022, ransacking the premises, even rifling through Melania Trump’s underwear drawers.

Wiles’ cellphone was also monitored by the feds between February and May 2023.

“Using a real-time monitoring tool, the FBI compiled logs documenting incoming and outgoing calls, missed calls, text messages, and voicemails. The records show officials cataloging her interactions with over a dozen defense attorneys representing Trump and others across the investigation, as well as communications with political advisors, campaign aides, Trump Organization staff, numbers linked to Trump’s personal office, and journalists,” according to Fox News.

The probe was given the green light by the top levels of federal law enforcement, with former attorney general Merrick Garland personally signing off on the “Sensitive Investigative Matter” involving the documents stored at Mar-a-Lago.

The former FBI boss urged Garland to approve the probe in a handwritten message at the bottom of the May 2022 memo, warning it involved figures from Trump’s first administration and “could potentially be disruptive to the democratic process if publicly disclosed prior to an election.”

“’Merrick, I recomend you approve. CW,’ Wray wrote,” according to the New York Post.

Garland named Smith special counsel in November 2022.

“Jack Smith’s surveillance operation was a disgraceful abuse of government power. Spying on political opponents is weaponization of law enforcement, plain and simple,” White House spox Lauren Bis told Fox News Digital. “Those responsible must be held accountable.”

The documents were posted to the White House’s Election Integrity page under the Plasmic Echo section.
