While upstate New York dug itself out of a deadly winter storm that killed more than two dozen people in Buffalo alone, President Biden and his family jetted off for the Caribbean for a Christmas vacation on St. Croix in the U.S. Virgin Islands, staying at the mansion of a billionaire Democrat donor.
If that wasn’t audacious enough, the president had the $1.7 trillion omnibus spending bill flown down to him so he could sign it — having the media in your pocket does have benefits.
On Friday, while leaving a restaurant in downtown Christiansted, Biden was asked by a reporter about running for reelection and he feigned ignorance about being aware of a coming election.
From the White House transcript of the exchange:
Q Have you talked to your family about running for reelection, sir?
THE PRESIDENT: There’s an election coming up?
Q Yeah.
THE PRESIDENT: I didn’t know that.
Q What’s your priorities for 2023?
Q How was dinner?
THE PRESIDENT: It was good. Dinner was good. And 2023 is going to be a good year.
Q How is your vacation so far?
THE PRESIDENT: So far, I’ve got my grandkids and everything is well. I’ve got my daughter. Everyone is down there — the whole dang family. So, we’re in good shape.
Everyone except Hunter Biden’s love child with a former stripper from Batesville, Ark. — the president and first lady refuse to acknowledge their grandchild.
CBS News White House reporter Bo Erickson shared part of the exchange on Twitter:
“2023 is going to be a good year,” President Biden says as he leaves dinner in St. Croix. When asked about re-election, he joked: “There’s an election coming up? I didn’t know that.” pic.twitter.com/p6vfrWGXqT

The reelection question is relevant because the Biden family was expected to discuss the matter over the holidays
“This is ultimately a family decision,” Biden said in November, during a press conference. “I think everybody wants me to run, but we’re going to have discussions about it. And I don’t feel in any a hurry one way or another.”
First lady Jill Biden was skeptical about another term but came around in mid-December, with CNN reporting that “seven people familiar” with Mrs. Biden’s thinking said she’s “all in” for another run in 2024.
Here’s a quick sampling of responses to the story from Twitter:
Oh brother. He isn’t actually running things anyway. It’s just MSM loves the direction of the country so it doesn’t matter.
