Former President Donald J. Trump reacted to the Biden administration’s sudden realization that a border wall is needed to prevent the country from being invaded, saying that it’s already too late to keep the “terrorists” out.
In a stunning flip-flop for the open borders regime, Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas said that there is an “acute and immediate need” to waive dozens of federal rules and laws to construct a barrier at the southern border as the migrant invasion has become a major political problem for the Democratic Party.
Following the news of the change of heart from Biden’s DHS boss that the moves were necessary due to “high illegal entry” at the border, the 2024 Republican frontrunner gave his thoughts to Fox News Digital in an exclusive interview.
“Biden sees our country is being invaded,” Trump told the outlet. “What is he going to do about the 15 million people from prisons, from mental institutions, insane asylums, and terrorists that have already come into our country?”
“What has happened to our country?” Trump asked, telling Fox News Digital that Biden needs to “go back to Trump policies.”
“He has to reinstate Remain in Mexico and Title 42,” the former president added. “He has to do all of the other things that we were doing.”
The number of Border Patrol arrests of illegal aliens whose names are on the FBI’s terrorist watchlist hit a record high in fiscal year 2023 with 151 arrests, according to 98 last year and 15 in fiscal year 2021. It is important to note that those are only the people who were caught and the potential exists that a much higher number of dangerous individuals are already inside of the U.S.
The Terrorist Screening Dataset (TSDS) is the government database that “contains sensitive information on terrorist identities” and “has evolved over the last decade to include additional individuals who represent a potential threat to the United States, including known affiliates of watchlisted individuals,” Customs and Border Protection says, according to Fox News.
In an announcement dated October 5, 2023, and posted to the Federal Register the agency states, “The Secretary of Homeland Security has determined, pursuant to law, that it is necessary to waive certain laws, regulations, and other legal requirements in order to ensure the expeditious construction of barriers and roads in the vicinity of the international land border in Starr County, Texas.”

Citing the “high illegal entry” at the Border Patrol’s Rio Grande Valley Sector where 245,000 illegals have entered the United States this year, Mayorkas said that he’s using the authority given to him by Congress to waive 26 laws including the Endangered Species Act, the Migratory Bird Conservation Act, the Safe Drinking Water Act, and the Clean Air Act to allow for the construction of the border barriers.
“There is presently an acute and immediate need to construct physical barriers and roads in the vicinity of the border of the United States in order to prevent unlawful entries into the United States in the project areas pursuant to sections 102(a) and 102(b) of [the Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act of 1996],” the secretary said.
“President Trump is always right,” a Trump campaign spokesperson told Fox News Digital on Wednesday night.
“That’s why he built close to 500 miles of powerful new wall on the border and it would have been finished by now,” the spokesperson added. “Instead, Crooked Joe Biden turned our country into one giant sanctuary for dangerous criminal aliens.”
Last month, Trump pledged that if he wins next year’s election he will carry out “the largest domestic deportation operation in American history,” and that he would start off his second term by “immediately” ending “every Open Borders policy of the Biden Administration.”
