Black Trump supporters respond to Charles Barkley’s unhinged slam: ‘I heard he was looking for me’

Fresh off threatening to punch black Trump supporters in the face, Charles Barkley doubled down, calling any black person who wears Trump mugshot merchandise “a freakin’ idiot.”

Barkley takes issue with former President Trump comparing his legal and political plight with that of black individuals in America. He’s made it abundantly clear he’s not a fan of Trump, who he refers to as a “white billionaire” who is “asinine” and “stupid.” He made his clarifying comments on Wednesday’s edition of “King Charles” on CNN.

On Saturday, the basketball star bluntly stated, “If I see a black person walking around with a Trump mugshot, I’m gonna punch him in the face.”

His cohort, Gayle King, tied herself into a pretzel attempting to make it clear that Barkley did not really intend to punch anyone in the face and that his remarks over the weekend that went viral were hyperbole. Barkley admitted he wouldn’t hit a stranger but it didn’t stop him from saying what he really felt, gleefully disparaging black voters for supporting Trump.

Meanwhile, as Barkley insulted black Trump voters, he kept reiterating that you can vote for whoever you want to.

Trump’s words in a speech to black conservatives told them they were persecuted like he has been after being indicted four times. That got under Barkley’s skin and seriously ruffled his fur.

And then I got indicted a second time and then a third time and a fourth time!” Trump stated in his speech. “And a lot of people said that that’s why the black people like me because they have been hurt so badly and discriminated against. And they actually viewed me as– I’m being discriminated against. It’s been pretty amazing.”

The mugshot of Trump was taken in Georgia after he was indicted there over questioning the 2020 election results. The former president proceeded to capitalize off the photo and his supporters cheered him for it.

“Number one, obviously, I’m not gonna go around punching random strangers in the face – first and foremost. Secondly, people can vote for who they want to. People can vote for who they want to,” Barkley told King.

“The point I was trying to make, no, the point I was making, I wasn’t trying to make it – when Donald Trump compares his plight with that of the black person, that is what I had a problem with,” he added.

“Now, I do wanna say this. I want to make it perfectly clear… If you’re a black person and you wearing a Donald Trump mugshot, you are a freaking idiot. And I’m only saying ‘freakin’ idiot ’cause they won’t let me say what I really wanna say. But you can figure it out. It starts with an ‘F,'” Barkley quipped.

Evidently believing that he needed to reiterate the smear, he took a second run at calling those who wear Trump merchandise a “freakin’ idiot.”

“I’ll stick by what I said. If you’re wearing a Trump mugshot around, you are a freakin’ idiot,” Barkley asserted.

“But you aren’t gonna go just randomly attacking people in the street. That’s the only point I wanted to make,” King repeated making it abundantly clear that’s exactly what CNN fears he might do.

“Unless they had Trump sneakers on too,” Barkley joked eliciting laughter from those in the studio.
