Bondi taps US Attorney Jay Clayton to lead Trump-requested probe of Epstein ties to Clinton, JP Morgan

Attorney General Pam Bondi on Friday assigned one of the federal government’s most powerful prosecutors to investigate deceased pedophile Jeffrey Epstein’s connections to the Democrats.

“SDNY U.S. Attorney Jay Clayton is one of the most capable and trusted prosecutors in the country, and I’ve asked him to take the lead,” Bondi announced in a tweet directed at President Donald Trump.

What reportedly makes Clayton special is his post inside the Southern District of New York (SDNY).

“The [SDNY] is widely viewed by legal experts as one of the most powerful federal prosecutor’s offices in the country,” according to The Hill. “It has long been conferred a greater degree of independence than the nation’s other 92 U.S. attorneys’ offices, and is known for handling high-profile prosecutions of corruption, national security, sex trafficking and white-collar crime.”

Clayton previously served as a partner at the law firm Sullivan & Cromwell in New York and then later as head of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) during Trump’s first presidential term.

The only catch is that Clayton’s confirmation to the SDNY has been stalled by Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer for political reasons, reportedly forcing Manhattan’s federal court judges to retain him on a more permanent interim basis until he’s finally confirmed.

Bondi’s announcement came after Trump posted to Truth Social calling for her “to investigate Jeffrey Epstein’s involvement and relationship with Bill Clinton, Larry Summers, Reid Hoffman, J.P. Morgan, Chase, and many other people and institutions.”

In his post, Trump attributed the Democrats’ obsession with Epstein and the so-called Epstein files to their desire to smear him again with another smear like the Russian collusion delusion hoax and conspiracy theory.

“This is another Russia, Russia, Russia Scam, with all arrows pointing to the Democrats,” he wrote. “Records show that these men, and many others, spent large portions of their life with Epstein, and on his “Island.”

In fact, the latest smear occurred earlier this very week when Democrats released emails obtained from Epstein’s estate that, on first glance, seemed to implicate the president in something nefarious.

“I want you to realize that that dog that hasn’t barked is trump,” Epstein wrote in one email to his madam, Ghislaine Maxwell, in early 2011. “[Victim] spent hours at my house with him ,, he has never once been mentioned.”

Republicans immediately pushed back by noting that the redacted “victim” was none other than deceased Epstein victim Virginia Giuffre, who before her death had repeatedly claimed that she’d never seen Trump do anything inappropriate around her.

“Why did Democrats cover up the name when the Estate didn’t redact it in the redacted documents provided to the committee?” Republicans asked in a scathing post published on X.

“It’s because this victim, Virginia Giuffre, publicly said that she never witnessed wrongdoing by President Trump. Democrats are trying to create a fake narrative to slander President Trump. Shame on them,” they added.

In another Truth Social post published Friday, the president slammed the few Republicans like Reps. Thomas Massie and Marjorie Taylor Greene for siding with the Democrats vis-a-vis Epstein.

“Some Weak Republicans have fallen into their clutches because they are soft and foolish,” he wrote. “Epstein was a Democrat, and he is the Democrat’s problem, not the Republican’s problem!”
