Brazen LA thieves hit Sephora store, stuffing trash bags, for third time before report filed with police

Given the rash of videos that have emerged out of California capturing brazen thieves in action, owning a business in the Golden State must be an expensive endeavor.

The latest video to emerge, as egregious as it is, is trumped by the fact that this is the THIRD time the group of thieves has hit the store.

In the footage that was posted on TikTok, three thieves are seen clearing shelves in the Los Cerritos Center mall in Los Angeles. The theft took place Saturday night at the Sephora store, a French retailer of personal care and beauty products. Two men and a woman are seen sweeping products off the shelves into large black trash bags.

The footage was posted online by Jessica Ortiz, and the caption reads, “I was just trying to pick out a concealer then heard a BANG.”

“Oh, my God. Oh, my f–king God,” she can be heard saying while recording the heist. “F–king lowlifes.”

Even more remarkable is the fact that the criminals calmly walk away once outside the store — almost as if they know there’s little to worry about.

On that note, the manager of the Sephora store said the same three suspects have robbed the place twice before, CBS Los Angeles reported, yet the store didn’t file a report until the third time.

And apparently did so reluctantly, which suggests Californians have accepted their fate of living in a lawless society.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said the robbery took place Saturday night and the store initially declined to file a report, but relented on Monday and did so.

With crime surging in the area, Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascon has been under intense pressure over his progressive criminal justice approach that disfavors cash bail, often reduces or drops charges altogether for many crimes, and bars prosecutors from charging juveniles as adults and applying sentence enhancements.

All of which boils down to the old adage that when you subsidize a behavior you can expect more of it.

It may also explain why California is seeing a noticeable decline in its population these past couple of years — people voting with their feet?
