Liberal comedian Bill Maher has beef with his own audience, calling them “a bunch of f**king liars” over the Obama library.
The new Barack Obama Presidential Centre’s eye-popping pricetag and high-priced tickets are enough to make anyone wonder if this is a historical library or a grift. Maher posed the question on his show, wondering if the $850 million spent on the Chicago project might have been used to fund something better.

It started when Maher rolled his eyes at Obama’s library costing $850,000,000 to build just to serve his “ego.”

“It looks like something aliens built in Dubai,” Maher said of the center’s architecture. “It cost $850 million, I don’t understand why progressives like this. Couldn’t that money be better spent on something else? Who’s going to go to this? Why does anyone need a presidential library, these monuments to somebody’s ego out of office? Anybody here in this audience planning to go to the Obama Presidential Library?”
A large amount of applause erupted from the audience, but Maher wasn’t buying it.
“Really?! You’re a bunch of f**king liars, you are. You’re not going to the Obama library.”
A good point, considering the tickets alone cost a pretty penny, to say nothing of travel costs in the current economy:
An adult ticket to the Obama library is 30 dollars.
A ticket for a 3 year old child costs 23 dollars.

He’s right. Functionally, it’s not a library, it’s a shrine. And that’s fine, but just call it what it is – people spent $850M to build a shrine to Obama (well, $725M because the government kicked in about $125M).
