Leave it to the state of California to set aside a month to celebrate and promote the myth that gender is a social construct and that body mutilation is an acceptable practice in the quest to change one’s gender — this being in addition to Pride Month, of course.
“The California State Assembly has voted to officially recognize August as ‘Transgender History Month,’ beginning in 2024, Fox 40 News reported.
“I couldn’t be more proud to have introduced legislation that will designate August as the first statewide Transgender History month in the nation,” said Assemblyman Matt Haney (D-San Francisco), the bill’s author.
“I believe that as Californians our strongest defense against the anti-trans agenda is just to tell the truth,” the lawmaker said. “Let’s tell the truth about transgender people’s lives, and let’s lift up the history of the transgender Californians who left their mark on our great state.”
Drag performer Honey Mahogany, chairperson of the San Francisco Democratic Party, spoke about “attacks on the trans community” at a press conference.
“We are still seeing acts of violence, still seeing attempts at legislating against our community and so it’s really important to us that we stop spreading misinformation about the trans community and take this opportunity to actually tell the truth and educate people about who we are,” the gender fluid official said.
The “attacks” referenced here “are efforts by parents and lawmakers to keep drag queens out of public schools, and putting a stop to trans athletes taking over women’s sports,” the California Globe noted.
Honey Mahogany is a “RuPaul’s Drag Race” alum and the Democrat’s song includes these lyrics: “It’s Honey. Sweeter than even maple syrup. Sweeter than chocolate made in Europe. Sweeter than candy red and green. Sweetest thing you’ve ever seen.”
Here’s a quick sampling of responses to the story as seen on X:
Why not just take the year? There’s so many letters in the alphabet mafia you’re going to need it

Remember when CA & NY were celebrating their diversity in 2016 by declaring their Sanctuary status? Recently they discovered it wasn’t so easy to deal with 1000s of illegal immigrants.
I predict this will end with a similar, and totally predictable, downside.— KJP’s Notebook (@KJPsNotebook) September 8, 2023
That’s sick. I live in this God forsaken dump and if weren’t for family and health issues, I’d be out of here tomorrow.
