The left’s cancel culture has come for the iconic 1978 Queen song “Fat Bottomed Girls,” can The Kinks be far behind?
Written by guitarist Brian May, the tune is one of Queen’s most popular songs but it was “mysteriously” dropped from the group’s new Greatest Hits collection, according to the Daily Mail, which is a bit surprising given the ongoing love affair with morbidly obese singer Lizzo, who takes raunchy to new lows.
The “Fat Bottomed Girls” chorus includes the phrase, “Fat bottomed girls, you make the rocking world go around.”
Here’s a sampling of some of the other lyrics in the song:
But I knew life before
I left my nursery, huh
Left alone with big fat Fanny
She was such a naughty nanny
Hey, big woman
You made a bad boy out of me
Hey, hey, woo!
I’ve been singing with my band
Cross the water, cross the land
I’ve seen every blue-eyed
Floozy on the way, hey
But their beauty and their style
Went kinda smooth after a while
Take me to them dirty ladies every time
Come on
An insider told the Daily Mail that the industry is lost on why the “fun song” would be axed.
“It is the talk of the music industry, nobody can work out why such a good-natured, fun song can’t be acceptable in today’s society,” the source said. “It is woke gone mad. Why not appreciate people of all shapes and sizes like society is saying we should, rather than get rid of it. It’s outrageous.”
The song is still available on YouTube — for now, anyway.
In a 2008 interview with Mojo magazine, May said he penned the song with flamboyant frontman Freddie Mercury in his thoughts. Mercury, who died in 1991 due to AIDS-related complications, was gay.
“I wrote it with Fred in mind, as you do, especially if you’ve got a great singer who likes fat bottomed girls… or boys,” May said.
We can only wonder if Sir-Mix-A-Lot’s “Baby Got Back” is next.
Here’s a quick sampling of responses to the story from “X,” formerly known as Twitter:
They make the rocking world go round.
I wonder – did they scrub Baby Got Back?

Can’t wait for the younger audience to hear about the Ghostbusters theme song.
“Bustin’ makes me feel good” could be seen as problematic. Was this bustin’ consensual?

I’m confused, are we or are we not allowed to like fat bottomed girls?
