Candace Owens jumps on the ‘ban’ wagon to mock university’s woke take on ‘harmful language’

Podcast host Candace Owens counterpunched the announcement that Stanford University had embarked on a mission to sanitize their websites of “harmful language” with a suggestion of her own for the so-called “cream of the crop.”

The conservative firebrand joined Fox News’ “Tucker Carlson Tonight” Tuesday with feigned trepidation over the “walking minefield” that woke progressives have continually expanded to block off meaningful discourse.

“You know, I gotta be honest, I’m scared,” she began telling host Tucker Carlson. “I’m not trying to get banned, I’m trying to abide by all the rules which would probably be easier if you’re a student at Stanford if you just kept your mouth shut.”

Having set the stage by noting the “personal” importance of the story, as he told the audience that he and Owens had actually met at Stanford in the computer sciences program, Carlson had explained the headline-making decision from the California university to cleanse their websites and code of language that could fit into categories of “ableist, ageism, colonialism, culturally appropriative, gender-based, imprecise language, institutionalized racism, person-first, violent and additional considerations.”

“It just seems like a walking minefield which is ridiculous,” Owens said before conceding, “But I think if we can’t beat ’em, we gotta join ’em. We should ban some more words.”

“We should ban ‘intelligence,'” she mocked, “obviously, because it’s an ableist term. They had a whole section for ableism, right? And, of course, intelligence should be ableism–it doesn’t allow people who don’t have thinking brains to be able to join in.” she said, including creators of the original list in that category.

Instead of continuing on with further suggestions to call out the Orwellian Newspeak being promoted at what once was considered a top university, Owens reflected on the harm these institutions were causing to the country.

“What people should be thinking when they see things like this is that college campuses have become a criminal enterprise,” she argued. “Kids are taking out hundreds and thousands of dollars in loans to attend these universities to be told essentially that they can’t speak and that everything that they do is wrong.”

“They come back dumber than when you sent them, right?” the commentator continued. “Because they see everything as a buzzword, everything as a trigger and in the end, they end up as non-productive human beings in society that also have hundreds and thousands…of student loan debt and nothing that they’re able to do because nobody wants to hire these people–these people that are just sensitive cry-babies.”

As she put it, “This list is so laughable, but you shouldn’t laugh because this list is coming from Stanford University. Stanford, Harvard, Yale! Yes, all these pretentious universities. We’ll be the best, the smartest, the cream of the crop…I’m sure we’re not allowed to say that by the way…and this is what they come up with.”

To really land the point about the pervasive efforts to control narratives the practiced groupthink, Carlson noted the same school that would prohibit the use of the expression “beat a dead horse” would find fault in the words but not the practice as they would gladly receive funding for “research” that would easily qualify as animal abuse.

Warning the host of the fine line he treads, Owens quipped, “You gotta be careful here because that could be against the religion of ‘Faucism,’ and you wanna be very careful not to be anti-Fauci anywhere because God forbid you question any of his morals, any of the experiments that they’ve done on animals or the experimentation that they’ve done on human beings,” she concluded of outgoing National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases director Dr. Anthony Fauci whose agency had helped fund grotesque studies torturing animals.
