‘Can’t relate’: Mike Pence’s sassy response to Hunter Biden investigation update

Former Vice President Mike Pence reacted to the news that a special counsel had been appointed to probe presidential son Hunter Biden, telling reporters that he “can’t relate” because his own son was “defending this country” as a member of the Marine Corps when he was in office.

On Friday, after the news broke that Attorney General Merrick Garland announced that US Attorney David Weiss had been given the new job title to oversee the investigation into President Joe Biden’s degenerate son, the press sought out the 2024 GOP candidates for their remarks, catching up with the ex-veep at the Iowa State Fair where he was campaigning.

“Well I think it’s about time,” Pence told a Fox Business reporter. “Look, the American people deserve to know what Hunter Biden and the Biden family were up to. Especially when Joe Biden was vice president.”

“I just heard news that the appointment of the special counsel in the matter involving President Biden’s son Hunter. To be honest with you, I can’t relate to what his son was doing when he was vice president. When I was vice president, my son was flying an F-35 for the Marine Corps defending this country,” Pence also said on Friday.

“But I think it’s about time that we saw the appointment of a special counsel to get to the bottom of not only what Hunter Biden was doing, but what the Biden family was doing,” he added. “The American people deserve answers, and I welcome the appointment.”

Other Republican hopefuls also reacted to the big news coming out of Washington, D.C.

“Now they’re doing this special counsel, but honestly, I think it’s all a sham,” said Florida Governor Ron DeSantis who is also campaigning in Iowa this weekend. “This is the same guy that’s already gone easy on Hunter, and now they’re just making him a special counsel? So I think that this is a ruse that they’re playing on people.”

“I don’t trust it. I don’t think the American people trust the Department of Justice or anything this is going to do,” former South Carolina governor and US Ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley told Fox News. “I think this was meant to be a distraction. It’s not a distraction, I think the Bidens are on a sinking ship.

Former President Donald J. Trump took to Truth Social on Friday with a suggestion.

“David Weiss was picked by the two Democrat Senators from Delaware under ‘Blue Slip.’ He would not have been picked by me. But I have a great idea. Why don’t they use Deranged Jack Smith. Weiss has been investigating Hunter for 4 years, giving him the ‘sweetheart’ deal of all sweetheart deals. But a brilliant Judge in Delaware saw through it all. Now, I read, the Department of Injustice wants a new Judge and Jurisdiction. But so do I, with far stronger reasons than Hunter & Crooked Joe. MAGA!!!” Trump said.

“Crooked Joe Biden, Hunter Biden, and the entire Biden Crime Family have been protected by the Justice Department for decades even though there is overwhelming evidence and credible testimony detailing their wrongdoing of lying to the American people and selling out the country to foreign enemies for the Biden Cartel’s own financial gain,” the Trump campaign said in a statement.
