A “predictable segue” followed James Carville’s revelatory remarks about his support for Maine’s Democratic Senate hopeful, which earned him respect for honesty.
“Probably the only thing he’s honest about.”
It’s often been said that if the Democratic Party didn’t have double standards, they’d have no standards at all. Amid the mounting controversy surrounding Graham Platner’s primary campaign, the longtime Democratic strategist owned up to as much when he admitted on CNN that he “wouldn’t be so forgiving” if a Republican presented with the same scandals.
The exchange took place during Friday’s installment of “The Lead” when CNN’s Jake Tapper asked Carville, “What would you say to a Republican who says, ‘James, if there was a Republican combat veteran who had a Nazi tattoo, a Totenkopf tattoo, you wouldn’t be so forgiving,’ what would you say to that?”
Responding bluntly, the Ragin’ Cajun expressed, “It’s true. I would say you’re exactly right.”

“If that person was a four-time combat veteran,” he continued before pivoting to President Donald Trump, “I’d say I’d never vote for him — or maybe it’s her, now we have women in combat — but, but, you know, you can’t, but I wouldn’t vote, I wouldn’t vote for — I think the greatest danger we face right now is from Donald Trump.”
Despite the tattoo, past remarks and a more recent scandal regarding sexually explicit messages the married man allegedly sent to multiple women, Carville issued his endorsement for Platner in a video titled, “Why Susan Collins Must Be Defeated.”
In it, he said of the allegations against the Democratic candidate, “I don’t care. If you committed a crime, then charge him and then throw is a** in jail. But, so far, we have none of that. We got a f*cked up guy, who he could be 100 times more f*cked up than he is, and he’d never be as f*cked up as what we got in Washington now anyway.”
He went on to liken the need to win to President Abraham Lincoln’s suspension of habeas corpus.
During the exchange with Tapper, Carville was also asked for a response to the notion from Democratic activist Cheyenne Hunt, who spoke out against voting for Platner, that “women shouldn’t be sacrificed for the sake of an election.”
Reminding that he had first endorsed Janet Mills in the primary, Carville said, “I might point out, this guy had four combat deployments,” before arguing, “It may be good to have a combat veteran who is having PTSD, who is struggling, who is having mental issues, on the floor of the United States Senate.”

In an environment where deflection and distraction are the norm, aside from his attempted potshot at the president, Carville managed to earn some respect for admitting partisanship was his key metric in the race.
At least he’s honest about his hypocrisy.
Probably the only thing he’s honest about.

Of course Carville is defending Platner. He helped put the Clintons in the WH. He’s not picky about the vile garbage he supports.

So let’s get this straight; Hegseth with a Christian tattoo and an Ivy League education is a bad veteran but Platner an unaccomplished guy with a Nazi tattoo is a good veteran.

He’s telling you he doesn’t care if there’s a double standard. He doesn’t care.

Dems will happily accuse anyone of being a Nazi with zero proof so long as they are a Republican.
But they’ve got no problem at all with a guy with a Nazi tattoo if he’s a Dem because it’s all about power and money for Dems.

Today’s democrats are beyond shame. Hypocrisy means nothing to them. A conscious could interfere with securing power.

It’s amazing to watch them do the mental gymnastics to get to one point:
