Cat fight! Even liberals can’t argue when Boebert points out ‘Sandy Pelosi’ has ‘sold out’ her voters

U.S. Rep. Lauren Boebert, a Republican, sparked a war of words with Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, a Democrat, on Thursday by slamming her as a sellout who’s “sold” out her constituents “at every turn.”

“On the rare occasions that @AOC actually spends time with her constituents, she is reminded that she has sold them out at every turn. She campaigned as an outsider and has now just morphed into #SandyPelosi!” the conservative lawmaker tweeted.

Attached to the tweet was a video clip recorded Wednesday evening showing Ocasio-Cortez being called out by two progressive Democrats during a town hall event.

As previously reported, a left-wing activist named Jose Vega showed up at the town hall event in the Bronx this Wednesday with a friend/accomplice to call the congresswoman out for essentially being a fake progressive Democrat.

An actual progressive value is being against war, yet Ocasio-Cortez has consistently voted with Democrats and establishment Republicans to fund the war in Ukraine, Vega and his friend/accomplice loudly pointed out to the congresswoman.

“Congresswoman, none of this matters unless there’s a nuclear war, which you voted to send arms and weapons to Ukraine. Tulsi Gabbard, she’s left the Democrat Party because they are war hawks,” the friend/accomplice said to Ocasio-Cortez.

“OK, you originally ran as an outsider. Yet you’ve been voting to start this war in Ukraine. You’re voting to start a third nuclear war with Russia and China. Why are you playing with the lives of American citizens? You’re playing with our lives,” he added.

The accomplice was then removed from the room by security, at which point Vega stood up and continued where his friend had left off.

“There will be no neighbors if there’s a nuclear bomb. You voted to mobilize and send money to Ukrainian Nazis. You’re a coward. You’re a progressive socialist? Where are you against the war mobilization?” Vega said.

“You have done nothing. Tulsi Gabbard has shown guts, where you’ve shown cowardice. I believed in you and you became the very thing you sought to fight against. That’s what you’ve become. You are the establishment. And you are the reason why everybody will end up in a nuclear war, unless you choose to stand up right now and denounce the Democrat Party. Will you do that?” he continued.

The congresswoman predictably refused to call out the Democrat Party and instead stuck to her guns, prompting more heckling from Vega and also Boebert’s tweet.

Ocasio-Cortez responded to her Republican colleague’s tweet by suggesting that Boebert is the real sellout.

Note that, unlike Boebert, who offered a video clip as evidence, Ocasio-Cortez offered no evidence to substantiate her accusations against her Republican counterpart.

The GOP lawmaker responded by doubling down on her original accusation.

“I notice you took a screenshot of my tweet instead of sharing the original one with the video of you getting completely ripped to shreds by your own constituents. I have governed as I campaigned. You sold out your supporters. Just own it. You’re the machine now,” she wrote, echoing Vega’s “you are the establishment” remark.

Critics say Boebert has a point. Ocasio-Cortez ran as a literal socialist and progressive Democrat, yet she’s governed entirely as an establishment Democrat, siding with House leader Nancy Pelosi on virtually every policy proposal.

The congresswoman’s critics include the World Socialist Web Site, which penned a scorching piece in early 2021 accusing her of “carrying forward” the Democrat Party’s “pro-imperialist, anti-communist traditions into the 21st century.”

The “main role” of her and those like her, WSWS argued, “is to serve as gatekeepers of the bourgeois political left, channeling social opposition into the Democratic Party and placing its left opponents beyond the pale.”

In other words, instead of governing as a socialist/progressive Democrat, Ocasio-Cortez has in reality used her image as an alleged progressive to sideline actual socialists and progressives.

Put more succinctly, she’s sold out …
