CBS Mornings co-host Gayle King outs ‘only white guy’ on the show for taking Juneteenth off

“CBS Mornings” co-host Gayle King gave viewers all the evidence they may need to understand that she looks at life through the prism of skin color — which is unfortunate for those who do not look like her.

King opened Monday’s show, which fell on Juneteenth, the holiday widely celebrated in post-Obama America that no one heard of beforehand, by noting that the only white host on the program took the day off.

(Orwellian fact-checkers are quick to note that the day set aside to celebrate the emancipation of slaves dates back to the 19th century.)

“Happy Juneteenth to you,” King said. “Is it lost on anybody that the only white guy at the table’s off today to celebrate Juneteenth and we’re still here? Glad to be here.”

The “white guy” King referenced is Tony Dokoupil, and he was absent from the “CBS Mornings” table Monday when King and black co-hosts Nate Burleson and Vladimir Duthiers opened the show — you can expect Whitey to next appear with hat in hand, begging forgiveness for offending those who prioritize racial discord in America or otherwise justifying why he took such an important day off.

The three black hosts laughed it off as if it were all a joke but the message is clear, Juneteenth will be revered as a national holiday — the Democrat-led Congress under former Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s thumb made it a federal holiday in 2021. For the record, President Abraham Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation on January 1, 1863, freeing all slaves.

“We are glad to be here,” Duthiers told viewers.

“I hope Tony’s enjoying his Juneteenth holiday,” King added. “Welcome to ‘CBS Mornings.'”
