Chaos in Philly as mobs of thugs run amok in Dem-controlled city, pillage retail stores

Mobs of masked thugs ran wild in Philadelphia on Tuesday night after a judge dropped charges against a police officer who shot and killed a man during a traffic stop last month, ransacking and looting stores in the Center City district.

In the latest example of the rampant lawlessness that has been allowed to flourish in Democrat-controlled cities since the 2020 George Floyd race riots, a swarm of around 100 mostly juveniles took over the streets in the “City of Brotherly Love” where they raided retail outlets including Lululemon, Foot Locker and the Apple Store, helping themselves to merchandise and clashing with police.

Police began receiving calls around 8:00 p.m. about large crowds moving into the area where they looted multiple stores, damaged property, and terrorized bystanders before order was restored.

There were 15-20 people arrested for what police described as a “coordinated attack,” according to Fox 29 Philadelphia.

The chaos erupted shortly after the conclusion of peaceful protests after charges against Philadelphia Police Officer Mark Dial – including murder –  were dismissed by Philadelphia Municipal Judge Wendy Pew who ruled that he acted in self-defense when he shot 27-year-old Eddie Irizarry on August 14, a ruling that Soros-backed DA Larry Krasner’s office will appeal.

“This had nothing to do with the protests,” Interim Police Commissioner John Stanford said. “What we had tonight was a bunch of criminal opportunists take advantage of a situation to make an attempt to destroy our city.”

Video footage of the criminal rampage was posted to X, the platform formerly known as Twitter.

“The Philadelphia Police Department is committed to maintaining public safety and order,” the Philly PD said in a statement on Wednesday morning. “We are actively investigating these incidents and working diligently to identify and apprehend those responsible for these unlawful acts. We appreciate the cooperation of our community and urge anyone with information related to these incidents to come forward and assist with the ongoing investigations.”

“We would like to thank our dedicated officers who swiftly responded to these incidents, as well as our community members who continue to support law enforcement efforts to keep Philadelphia safe,” the statement said.
