President Donald J. Trump’s reaction to the death of Russiagate special counsel Robert Mueller struck a nerve with leftists who lashed out at the rude treatment of their hero, with talk radio host Charlamagne Tha God making a prediction of coming revelry on the president’s final day.
“Good, I’m glad he’s dead. He can no longer hurt innocent people!” Trump wrote on Truth Social after news of the former FBI chief’s passing broke, a final farewell to the man who was the figurehead of the sweeping witch hunt unleashed on him during his first term.
In a Monday rant about Trump’s sendoff to Mueller, the “Breakfast Club” host slammed Trump while predicting that his death will be treated “like Mardi Gras in New Orleans,” and shaming the president by dragging First Lady Melania Trump and their son Barron into his diatribe.

“I mean, you’ve already ruined yours because you’re, you know, going to go down as the worst president of all time because you don’t give a damn about democracy, wiping your a** with the Constitution, and on pace to lead this country into the worst financial crisis of all time,” the host – whose real name is Lenard Larry McKelvey – said of Trump’s legacy.
“But you are also putting yourself into a position that when you pass, people are going to treat it like Mardi Gras in New Orleans,” he continued. “The celebrations folks are going to have, the things people are going to say about you when you pass. Mr. President, I don’t care about how many buildings you put your name on, bridges, tunnels, they can create holidays. None of that will matter because you have hurt way too many people.”
“And more importantly, you get back the energy you put out. Do you care? Do you care what Barron sees about you after you pass? Do you care what Melania sees about you after you pass? What about your grandkids?” Charlamagne asked.
The host also accused Trump of hypocrisy after he cracked down on foreigners who celebrated slain Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk’s assassination last year.
White House spokesperson Davis R. Ingle reacted to the suggestion of Mardi Gras-like rejoicing about Trump’s death in a comment to Fox News Digital, referring to the president’s own assessment of Charlamagne Tha God as a “racist sleazebag” and a “low-IQ individual.”
“Can anyone imagine the uproar there would be if I used that nickname?). He’s a Low IQ individual, has no idea what words are coming out of his mouth,” Trump wrote in an August 2025 post to Truth Social, touting his record while ripping the “racist sleazebag” as a “dope” who “would vote for Sleepy Joe or Kamala?”
The ballyhooed Mueller investigation ended with a thud when his final report found that there was no grand conspiracy between the president and the Kremlin, a major disappointment for leftists who had spent years lionizing him as their great Trump slayer.
