The Democrat-run city of Chicago has been descending into lawless chaos more and more in recent days, the worst of it being seen over the weekend when hundreds of unruly teenagers began rioting downtown because they weren’t allowed into Millennium Park, which is reportedly open only to those over 21 after 6:00 pm on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
Two teens were shot Saturday and a wild mob was seen on video jumping on cars and smashing their windows in the Loop. Another clip captured a man punching a CTA bus driver through a shattered window next to the driver’s seat, and yet another disturbing video captured a mob violently attacking a white woman who appeared to be trying to protect a black man.
As seen in a video believed to be from Saturday, the woman was in front of a black man wearing a green hat and they both disappeared when the mob descended on them and began beating and kicking them — it’s not clear who the victims are or what their current condition is.

Chicago police confirmed that a couple was attacked and robbed around 8 p.m. Saturday, but it does not appear to be the same victims as above. The man and a woman were near Millennium Park when the group attacked and robbed them of their belongings. Both victims were taken to the University of Illinois Hospital for treatment of minor injuries, according to CPD.
A husband and wife from Indianapolis were also targeted, according to WGN. The couple came to see the sights on a warm spring weekend in Chicago and were violently attacked, with the husband being taken to the hospital.
“Suddenly a mob of teens between 16 and 18-year-olds began climbing and hitting our truck,” the wife told WGN. “We even saw them get on top of a bus.”
“We’re so scared right now,” she added. “We don’t want to step out of the house.”

Outgoing Mayor Lori Lightfoot is just as clueless at the end of her reign as she was going in — unfortunately, Chicago managed to elect the one person for mayor who is even more radically left than Lightfoot when it comes to policing.
“We have taken steps, and will take steps to address these teen trends. It’s not the first time that we’ve addressed these issues, but our young people have an opportunity and a right to enjoy the entirety of our city, but they have to do it in a way that is respectful for people and property. And we did address that over the weekend, and we will continue to address it,” Lightfoot said. “The vast majority of young people that came downtown because it was a great weather and an opportunity to enjoy the city, that’s absolutely entirely appropriate. There are a few that came with different intentions, and they have, and they will be dealt with.”
Lightfoot also added this sure-footed solution:

Mayor-elect Brandon Johnson was clear about whose side he was on when he defended the mob.
“In no way do I condone the destructive activity we saw in the Loop and lakefront this weekend. It is unacceptable and has no place in our city,” Johnson said in a statement. “However, it is not constructive to demonize youth who have otherwise been starved of opportunities in their own communities.”
In downtown Chicago this weekend, SEVERAL innocent people were ROBBED, BEATEN, TERRORIZED, and had their cars DESTROYED by a mob of 300+ teens.

The Chicago Police Department was a bit more forceful in a statement put out.
“The Chicago Police Department’s top priority is the safety and wellbeing of our residents and visitors, including our city’s youth,” the release said. “The reckless, disruptive and violent behavior that was seen downtown this past weekend will not be tolerated. We encourage our young people to be safe and responsible as they enjoy their weekends, but anyone engaged in criminal activity will be arrested and held accountable.”
Four steps were announced to deal with the mayhem, according to ABC 7:
- An increased police presence at large gatherings
- Monitoring all activity and police cameras
- Bag checks at beach entry points
- Working with youth and outreach workers
