Former CNN anchor Chris Cuomo discovered how much time actual heroes have to put in to keep their community safe, and according to two sources, it put him off becoming a firefighter.
The sources, who spoke to The Daily Beast’s Lachlan Cartwright, revealed how Cuomo’s ouster from the media company led him to briefly consider a switch of occupation. The embattled anchor submitted an application to East Hampton Fire Department for a volunteer position. Perhaps the “volunteer” part of the description led to some confusion on Cuomo’s part, as he reportedly withdrew his application a short time later after learning how much time he would have to commit to the position.
“‘It’s a very time-consuming thing. There are monthly meetings and drills and you have to meet a percentage of your calls,’ EHFD Chief Duane Forrester told Confider. ‘That’s why we don’t have many celebrities,'” read a segment of the Daily Beast’s article.
Perhaps Cuomo was too wrapped up in his pursuit of a new venture, which he teased earlier this month with some photos on Instagram and the phrase “Something’s coming.” The announced date for the anticipated comeback is Summer ’22, so it remains to be seen how Cuomo will return to the spotlight after a rather nasty falling out with CNN and even his ex-BFF Don Lemon.

He was fired from CNN after it was revealed he was helping his brother, former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, handle his various sexual harassment allegations in a clear breach of journalistic ethics. Since then, Cuomo has sued his former employer for a whopping $125M, or what was left of his contract at the time of his termination, and claimed that CNN was in fact aware of his interactions with his brother.
Reactions to the news of Cuomo’s attempted occupation change came quickly:
How much do you want to make a bet he just wanted to be a “fireman” to pose for pictures on @instagram and that’s about it.

Ironic, since he is notorious for burning down the house.

An honest days work is too much for the mansion boy… 🤣

Typical narcissist….. just wanted his photo in the fireman’s calendar. If he really wants to save lives he will make sure his brother is NEVER in public office again

Then he found out you have to actually work

He just wanted to be able to say he was a volunteer firefighter. Chris is such a tool.
