An American female professional soccer player has apologized for offending radically left-wing former player Megan Rapinoe.
U.S. women’s national soccer team midfielder Korbin Albert is guilty of committing the supposed crime of posting allegedly anti-LGBT content to her TikTok account, including a Christian sermon about how being gay and “feeling transgender” is wrong, according to The Athletic.
During the latest Fourth of July celebration, she also posted a video of her family members, including her, stating that “their pronouns are U.S.A.” And lastly, Albert liked a meme on Instagram that mocked Rapinoe, who is despised by many for being a pompous left-wing elitist.
“God taking time off performing miracles to make sure Megan Rapinoe sprains her ankle in her final ever game,” the meme reportedly read.
A USWNT player that reposts videos about God “saving” people from being gay and “feeling transgender” is just gross, insulting and unacceptable. Not after the team and also have worked so hard to become a safe place for queer players and fans. https://t.co/FTwW1xjve4 pic.twitter.com/aXVwD2bhT0

In response to all this, Rapinoe snapped and published an Instagram Story attacking Albert and accusing her of perpetrating dangerous hate against the LGBT community.
“For people who want to hide behind ‘my beliefs,’ I would just ask one question, are you making any type of space safer, more inclusive, more whole, any semblance of better, bringing the best out of anyone,” she wrote.
“Because if you aren’t, all you believe in is hate. And kids are literally killing themselves because of this hate. Wake TF up! Yours truly, #15. For all my trans homies enduring this horrific treatment day in and day out, I see you and hear you and I am WITH YOU,” she added.
Sadly, instead of holding her own and standing up for her Christian beliefs, Albert immediately bent the knee and published an apology to her own Instagram Stories feed.
“I want to sincerely apologize for my actions on social media. Liking and sharing posts that are offensive, insensitive and hurtful was immature and disrespectful which was never my intent,” she wrote. “I’m really disappointed in myself and am deeply sorry for the hurt that I have caused to my teammates, other players, fans, friends and anyone who was offended.”
“I truly believe that everyone should feel safe and respected everywhere and on all playing fields. I know my actions have not lived up to that and for that l sincerely apologize. It’s an honor and a privilege to get to play this sport on the world stage and I promise to do better,” she added.

This isn’t the first time a female soccer player has come under fire for expressing her Christian beliefs.
Former player Jaelene Daniels reportedly stopped appearing with the U.S. women’s national soccer team after word broke that she’d posted an allegedly anti-LGBT statement to Twitter after the Supreme Court legalized same-sex marriage in 2015.
“This world is falling farther and farther away from God… All that can be done by believers is to continue to pray,” she wrote.

Unlike Albert, Daniels never apologized and continued repping her Christian beliefs, even as she moved on to play for other teams.
“In late July [of 2022], as her team was about to play against the Washington Spirit, defender Jaelene Daniels from the North Carolina Courage refused to wear a gay pride jersey. The jerseys and game marked an end to the club’s ‘Pride Festival,'” according to The Federalist.
“In response to Daniels’ refusal, Sean Nahas, her team’s coach, chose not to place her on the roster of eligible players for the game. Nahas admitted he made the decision to appease his LGBTQ players,” The Federalist reported a couple of months after the incident occurred.
Dovetailing back to the latest controversy, critics are now bashing Albert for bending the knee instead of going out like Daniels.

Weak. You either stand up for what you believe or don’t stand for anything at all
