Christie accuses Trump of interfering with GOP primary process. Check out his return fire!

Another skirmish between former President Donald J. Trump and GOP presidential candidate Chris Christie broke out on Tuesday with the two men taking verbal shots at each other in their ongoing war of words.

Coming off of a disappointing debate performance, the former New Jersey governor is hitting the media heavily and, as is the case with Christie, the topic is always about Trump whom he ripped during an appearance on Fox News.

During his conversation with “America Reports” host John Roberts, the topic of Trump’s upcoming trial on charges related to the so-called January 6 “insurrection” came up on the day after an Obama-appointed D.C. judge set the 2024 trial date for the day before Super Tuesday.

Christie, who during a Monday CNN appearance said that the timing of the trial was “disastrous for the Republican Party,” put the blame on the current GOP frontrunner and not Judge Tanya Chutkan for interfering in the primary process and seemed to suggest that he should quit the race.

“Judge Tanya Chutkan, who is an Obama appointee, said we’re going to the courtroom on the 4th of March, a day before Super Tuesday,” Roberts asked. “Supporters of former President Trump are looking at this saying that timeline seems to clearly be designed to interfere with the primary process. What do you say?”

“What interferes with the primary process is Donald Trump’s conduct and his insistence on continuing to run for president of the United States despite the fact he’s been indicted in four different jurisdictions and he’s out on bail in four different jurisdictions in this country,” Christie responded.  “Whether you believe the charges are just or not, they are here.”

“And what it’s going to do is put the Republican Party in an awful position. Donald Trump is going to court on March 4th. He’ll be on trial for anywhere from six to eight weeks…,” he added while pumping himself up and expressing hope that he’ll be able to eat into Trump’s massive lead.

Trump fired back with a red-hot blast on Truth Social, saying that the ABC News pundit is the one who should call it quits and return to his television studio.

“Sloppy Chris Christie, who was rated the Worst Governor in the History of New Jersey, had the lowest approval rating, 8%, had 11 straight downgrades of New Jersey Bonds, a record, was thrown out of New Hampshire after his last debate, and endlessly suffered from the horrible and never ending Bridgegate scandal, SHOULD DROP OUT OF THE RACE. HE IS GOING NOWHERE AND IS VERY BAD FOR THE REPUBLICAN PARTY!” Trump wrote.

The former POTUS also tore into Roberts in another post, “Would somebody please tell RINO John Roberts of FoxNews that my poll numbers went up after the last ‘debate,’ they didn’t go ‘slightly down.’ I am leading DeSanctimonious by more than 50 Points, and Crooked Joe Biden by a lot. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”

Christie topped off his day with a return to CNN where he has spent so much time that he may as well be an employee, reacting to Trump’s call to go away during an interview with Kaitlan Collins.

“He only wishes I was going away,” he said. “And it’s great, you know for me Kaitlan, to live rent-free in Donald Trump’s head.”

Once allies, the two swaggering Republicans have fiercely clashed with Christie on a clear-cut kamikaze mission to take out the ex-president short of the nomination and Trump returning fire with his vicious jabs, including recent remarks that the weight-challenged candidate is a “fat pig” during a speech in New Hampshire, and it’s only going to get uglier.
