Former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie swiped at his fellow GOP candidates over their support of former President Donald J. Trump and predicted that the current frontrunner will skip the next primary debate as well.
Following his dismal performance at last week’s Republican presidential primary debate where he was nearly booed off of the stage at Milwaukee’s Fiserv Forum, Christie was back in his safe zone on Sunday morning television.
In an appearance on ABC’s “This Week,” the former New Jersey governor showcased his presidential platform which is devoid of anything other than bashing former President Donald J. Trump, and this time, he also lashed out at his GOP rivals as well.
Christie chatted with Martha Raddatz and right off the bat, it was all about the 2024 GOP frontrunner whom he was deprived of his chance of torpedoing on the debate stage when Trump declined to participate.
Asked by his ABC News colleague how he’d rate his debate showing and if there was anything that he’d do differently, the blustering former prosecutor answered, “Not really, Martha. I mean, I think that, you know, I answered the questions as I always do, really directly, looked into the camera and spoke to the audience at home and told them the truth.

“And the truth is that, you know, we can’t have a convicted felon as our nominee for president and expect we’re going to win,” Christie continued. “And it was really the most amazing part of the debate to me was the idea that, you know, the majority of my competitors believe that you can have a convicted felon as our nominee for president, and that they support that and that he could win. I think that’s an impossibility.”
Christie also dismissed the idea that degenerate presidential son Hunter Biden matters as much as some Republicans believe, seeming to blow off the foreign bribery scandal involving his father.
“Well, look, Hunter Biden’s not on the ballot,” he said, adding, “And here’s the interesting part — you know, some of those voters who say that the Hunter Biden thing matters, but Donald Trump’s doesn’t. That’s just wishful thinking. The fact is that the two people who would be on the ballot if we nominated Donald Trump will be Donald Trump and Joe Biden, not Hunter Biden.”
Raddatz also asked about his being repeatedly booed during the debate, which he was during his attacks on Trump and jousting with Vivek Ramaswamy, the svelte, mentally sharp young biotech entrepreneur who ran circles around the larger, older politician with his stale and tiresome repertoire.

“You know, that’s — I’ve seen other polls that said I performed as high as second or third in the debate that night,” he said, not naming the polls that he claimed showed that he was one of the night’s shining stars.
Christie previously blamed the booing on Fox News moderators.
He also offered up a prediction that Trump won’t show up for the next debate either.
“I don’t think he’ll show up for the next one. I never thought he would show up for the next one. It’s at the Reagan Library. And, of course, Ronald Reagan being an honest, direct, successful conservative, Donald Trump would not want to get anywhere near the Reagan Library and suffer that comparison,” he said. “But we’ll see if he shows up for debate number three in Alabama. I think that one is much more likely that he’ll show up. I certainly don’t think he’ll be showing up at the Reagan Library.”
