Waving a Pride flag did little to endear Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer to a New York City crowd that showered him with boos at a parade on Sunday.
The Democrat joined the NYC Pride March, waving a flag and yelling, “Happy Pride!” from a bullhorn, but encountered some in the crowd who were decidedly less enthusiastic about his participation. Videos posted online showed the mixed reactions to Schumer’s appearance, with many onlookers heard shouting “Boo!” as he walked along.
“I was the first senator to march in this parade, and I’m not the last,” he said as he waveXd the Pride flag in one video clip posted by journalist Kyle Stevens.
A MIXED REACTION FOR CHUCK AT PRIDE: @SenSchumer made his presence felt at @NYCPride, and the crowd was divided when he spoke to them in New York City down in the village this afternoon. #chuckschumer #nycprideparade pic.twitter.com/oGXDDvpK77

Other clips also captured the negative reactions.
🔥 LMAO! Chuck Schumer is receiving nothing but BOOs at the “NYC Pride Parade” today
What a pathetic loser.

Meanwhile, the senator called it an “honor” to be part of the NYC Pride Parade, which he said was “one of my favorite annual traditions!”
“I was the first Senator to march in this parade, and it’s amazing to see all the progress we’ve made on LGBTQ+ equality since then,” he wrote in a social media post before attacking President Donald Trump.
“But with the Trump administration in the White House, we must do everything in our power to protect that progress from those who wish to take us back in time,” the five-term lawmaker added.

Schumer did get some cheers, however, and shared at one point, “I was the first Senate leader to come out for gay marriage. And 15 years later, I was vindicated, and my daughter married a beautiful young lady.”
With the radicalization of the Democratic Party and the recent socialist primary wins in New York, Schumer has been losing ground with voters. The Jewish senator has not yet announced whether he will run for reelection in 2028, but the reception he received at Sunday’s march may help him make his decision.
Oh he knows. That’s why he’s pandering so hard now. Doesn’t want to be unseated by AOC in 2028

Democrats will now suffer the consequences of trying to appease the far left.

Surprised he could even walk without his backbone.
