Far-left NBC News host Chuck Todd has finally done the unthinkable and admitted that maybe, just maybe, Republicans have a point about the catastrophic border crisis.
During a segment of “Meet the Press Now” on Wednesday, Todd discussed the growing complaints from Democrat officials in New York and other blue states about the influx of illegal aliens into their communities.
At one point during the segment, he bent the knee and admitted that Texas Gov. Greg Abbott had been right about his theory that Democrats would finally start caring about the border once illegal aliens became THEIR problem.
“I guess Greg Abbott was right when he said, once he got blue cities to deal with this, that they would be very upset at the federal government,” Todd said.
“[T]here’s a lot of background to this story and it — the Governor of Texas had been complaining about the administration not helping for months, and he said, well, I’m going to start sending these migrants to blue states, maybe they’ll get some action. He’s turned out to be right about this that he knew that other governors — it didn’t matter Democrat or Republican — would also feel burdened by this. And sure enough, here we are.”
Listen from the 38:58 mark below:
As previously reported, last year a group of GOP governors led by Abbott began shipping incoming illegal aliens to blue jurisdictions like New York City, among many others.
The intent was to deliver a “wake-up” call to the left. Initially, the plan failed, and Democrats all united as one and accused Republicans of playing political games.
But as time passed and the number of illegals increased, state- and city-level Democrats began singing a drastically different tune. The complaints further ballooned when — surprise, surprise — southern Democrat governors began shipping illegals up north too.
“Democratic-led cities dealing with migrants bused in from the southern border say they’ve hit a breaking point, again pleading with the White House to help them manage an influx that has already overloaded community resources,” Politico reported in January.
“Their concerns spiraled into Democratic infighting after New York City Mayor Eric Adams said earlier this week that Colorado Gov. Jared Polis planned to send migrants from his state to New York and Chicago, further straining shelters, schools and health services in the cities. On Wednesday, Adams continued to criticize Democratic state leaders for sending to his city,” the site added.
“One time we had to deal with Republican governors sending migrants to New York. Now we’re dealing with Democratic governors sending migrants to New York,” Adams said at the time.
Months later, the NYC mayor is still running his mouth.
“New York City Mayor Eric Adams on Wednesday called for the federal government to declare a state of emergency to manage the ‘crisis’ at the border, saying the influx of asylum seekers could end up costing the city billions of dollars in the coming years,” according to NBC News.
“Adams said more than 57,000 migrants are under the city’s care on an average night and nearly 100,000 asylum seekers have sought shelter there since last year,” the establishment outlet reported Wednesday.
Cities like New York, Boston, Chicago, El Paso, Houston, and Los Angeles can’t and shouldn’t be left to shoulder a national crisis alone. We need the federal government to take immediate action.

Of course, the one and only true solution is not money or resources — it’s President Joe Biden actually securing the border and stopping the influx of illegal aliens into the U.S. But unfortunately, this is the one solution that the administration refuses to pursue.
Indeed, just three months ago the president vowed to veto any House bill “that aims to restrict asylum, build more border wall and cut a program that allows migrants a chance to stay in the U.S.,” as reported at the time by PBS News.
The report was filed in the wake of GOP lawmakers planning to pass the Secure the Border Act.
“The legislation represents the GOP’s first major immigration policy proposal since the Trump era, when immigration opponents controlled the White House. The 213-page bill resurrects a slew of former President Donald Trump’s policies, such as building barriers along hundreds of miles of border country, and in some cases pushes beyond his efforts,” according to PBS News.
Recall that during the latter years of the Trump administration, the border was SECURE, and no cities — either blue or red — had to deal with a constant influx of illegal aliens.
This state of affairs is exactly what House Republicans have been trying to resurrect, but all to no avail thanks to America’s very stubborn Democrat president, Joe Biden …
