‘Cis, white male’ is disqualified for top position as shift to race-based hiring takes hold

Willow Grove, Pennsylvania School Board Treasurer Jennifer Solot said the quiet part out loud during a recent meeting on Dec. 6, asserting that she would not vote for “the only cis white male” on the board as president, even though she said he would make an excellent president.

Upper Moreland School District, which is in the northern suburbs of Philadelphia, just got a bit more airtime than it probably wanted with the biased statement from its treasurer. A woke and outspoken Solot led motions during the meeting as acting president, according to Fox News.

There were two people up for the position of president, April Stainback and Greg D’Elia.

Solot decided to weigh in on the vote, letting everyone know who she would vote for and why.

“I believe that Mr. D’Elia would make an excellent president,” she stated. “However, I feel that electing the only cis white male on this board president of this district sends the wrong message to our community: a message that is contrary to what we as a board have been trying to accomplish.”

Cisgender refers to those who identify with the gender they are given at birth. The left has turned it into a derogatory reference. Evidently, D’Elia was born a male and identifies as a male.

“I think it’s important that we practice what we preach and that our words have strength when they are spoken, whether we speak them from the neighborhood sidewalks or from behind these tables,” Solot went on to comment.

“Mrs. Stainback has done an exemplary job as president these last few months, and the strength of her performance has earned her my vote tonight,” she declared.

Eight members reportedly voted for Stainback while D’Elia was the lone vote for himself after Solot’s proclamation.

Following Solot’s remarks and during the vote, school board member Sarah Byrnes nervously stated, “This is very hard to do as the new person on the board.” But it didn’t stop her from bowing to peer pressure and voting for Stainback, according to the Washington Examiner.

Rose Huber also hesitated but voted for Stainback following the leftist pack.

The board’s decision comes as school boards, organizations and corporations have shifted to race-based and gender hiring.

“[Companies] created new roles to steer diversity, equity, and inclusion, aiming to close the gap on race, gender, sexuality, and other underrepresented groups as it pertains to hiring or promotions,” a Fortune report from 2020 noted on the issue.

“Diversity, equity and inclusion (DE&I) programs are top of mind for employers as they aim to build better workplaces and attract the best talent in a tight labor market, but employers may unintentionally violate equal employment opportunity (EEO) laws as they seek to diversify their workforces and develop internal programs to promote fairness,” an article from the Society for Human Resource Management reported indicating that the practice is spreading across the nation.

Despite D’Elia, the “cis, white male” school board member, was supported by the Upper Moreland Democrats when he ran in 2019. He was unceremoniously thrown under the woke bus.

He is the father of three children and attended Penn State, receiving a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering in 2005. According to a 2019 candidate questionnaire, he holds four U.S. patents and “headed design and installation on guy lines on the new One World Trade Center.”

D’Elia’s interest in the school board occurred when one of his children “struggled with school and was having a very bad experience.” He was able to get the special education resources that his son needed to overcome his problems. His goals in running for office were to “improve access to special services for students.”

He overcame the challenges his son faced but could not overcome being male and white in order to lead on the school board.
