‘C’mon people, let’s wake up!’ Wasserman Schultz pleads with ‘sparse’ FL crowd to cheer Biden intro

President Joe Biden traveled to Florida on Tuesday to stump for Democrats Charlie Crist and Val Demings who are trailing badly to Gov. Ron DeSantis and incumbent U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., respectively.

The appearance of the largely unpopular, soon-to-be 80-year-old president being the best indication of how desperate Crist and Demings are, and the Hail Mary effort didn’t exactly get off to a rousing start.

U.S. Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz was at the microphone ahead of Biden taking the stage trying to fire up a “sparse” crowd, as Reuters described attendance.

“Let’s wake up!” she said — the irony dripping.

“C’mon people, let’s wake up! We got the president of the United States in the house! C’mon now! I know you got a little more energy than I hear,” Wasserman Schultz pleaded.

The crowd began to cheer a little louder as she raised her voice while snapping her fingers, adding: “OK. Thank you very much. That’s the crowd I know. Those are the people I represent. Okay. Just wanted to make sure you’re still here.”

The room fell silent again after the brief stir.

Perhaps, DWS should have given “Sleepy Joe” a wake-up call, as the low-energy president would come out to tell the crowd he has no “greater friend in the United States Senate” than Wasserman Schultz, who actually sits in the House of Representatives.

Biden took a shot at Gov. DeSantis when he said “Charlie is running against Donald Trump incarnate,” proving once again that Democrats have little to run on outside of abortion, Jan. 6 and trashing Donald Trump.

Well. that and scaring Florida’s large senior citizen population by distorting reality to falsely claim that Republicans are going to take away Social Security.

“You’ve been paying into Social Security your whole life, you earned it, now these guys want to take it away,” Biden said at one point Tuesday. “Who in the hell do they think they are?”

In what may be a first, he even took on a southern accent while fearmongering:

Here’s a quick sampling of responses to the excitement Wasserman-Schultz delivered, as seen on Twitter:
