An audit of the most likely offenders found Dr. Oz forewarning Americans to “Buckle up for this one,” after tracking down over $1.3 billion in taxpayer dollars funneled to illegal aliens.
The Democratic Party’s commitment to gaslighting has carried the federal government shutdown through October and into November while insisting it wasn’t their aim to cover the medical costs of foreign nationals. Fulfilling his role as administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), Oz alleged the usual suspects “realized that they were guilty” as he began “clawing back” Medicaid funds being used for exactly that.
“Some want to deny that illegal immigrants are receiving Medicaid. Others insist it’s illegal for Medicaid to cover illegal immigrants. And others accurately point out that hospitals can provide emergency services to illegal immigrants under the program,” expressed the official after indicating an initial set of audits had been done.
Of those, a review of California, Colorado, Illinois, Oregon, Washington and Washington, D.C. found them to be “improperly using federal tax dollars for their allegedly state-funded program and providing coverage to individuals, including some with criminal records of murder and assault.”
Buckle up for this one.
Based on our initial set of audits, more than $1B of federal taxpayer dollars were being spent on funding Medicaid for illegal immigrants. And my team is getting it back.

California was by far the most egregious offender, as Oz reported over $1.3 billion worth of federal funds had been used, well ahead of the under $30 million by Illinois, as the other callouts combined to less than $12 million.
“We can all agree on this: rooting out fraud, waste, and abuse is essential to protecting this program for the most vulnerable. It’s also one of the Trump Administration’s top priorities,” wrote Oz, who went on to state, “Whether willful or not, the states’ conduct highlights a terrifying reality: American taxpayers have been footing the bill for illegal immigrants’ Medicaid coverage, despite many Democrats and the media insisting otherwise.”
In the accompanying video, the administrator added, “We are clawing back that money — we’ve already gotten hundreds of millions of dollars back, which again, proves that these states realized that they were guilty because they wouldn’t give us the money back otherwise.”
Meanwhile, congressional Democrats have maintained that their prolonged shutdown was not about covering healthcare costs for illegal aliens despite House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) pointing out the specific text of legislation aimed at repealing portions of Trump’s One Big, Beautiful Bill Act regarding the restrictions of “Alien Medicaid eligibility.”
At the same time that the left dug in its heels on freebies for foreign nationals, President Donald Trump had called on Democrats to bring an end to their shutdown, as Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits were being impacted.
“I do NOT want Americans to go hungry just because the Radical Democrats refuse to do the right thing and REOPEN THE GOVERNMENT,” wrote the president on Truth Social. “Therefore, I have instructed our lawyers to ask the Court to clarify how we can legally fund SNAP as soon as possible. It is already delayed enough due to the Democrats keeping the Government closed through the monthly payment date and, even if we get immediate guidance, it will unfortunately be delayed while States get the money out.”
“The Democrats should quit this charade where they hurt people for their own political reasons, and immediately REOPEN THE GOVERNMENT,” added Trump as he encouraged those receiving SNAP benefits to contact Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer’s (D-NY) office.
