Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) is reportedly being targeted for expulsion from Congress as the Republican firebrand prepares to move forward with his promise to introduce a motion to vacate against Speaker of the House Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) when lawmakers reconvene on Monday.
The knives are said to be fully out for Gaetz after McCarthy cut a deal with Democrats to send more money to Ukraine amid frenzied negotiations over the stopgap government funding bill that passed on Saturday during a heated process that among other things, featured “squad” member Rep. Jamaal Bowman (D-NY) setting off a fire alarm in a “new low” for a chamber that has become a disgrace to America — thanks in large part to the antics of the new crop of activist Democrats.
In a bombshell that just dropped, CNN reported that some members of the Republican caucus want the fiery Florida Republican “gone” and are preparing to kick him out based on the findings of an ongoing Ethics Committee investigation, a move that will effectively nullify the will of voters in Florida’s 1st Congressional District and show Americans that there is truly no such thing as “democracy” when it comes to protecting the interests of the corrupt political elite.
“We want him out,” an anonymous GOP lawmaker told the outlet.

Gaetz announced that he’s now ready to pull the trigger against McCarthy, telling CNN’s Jake Tapper that he intends to file a motion to vacate against McCarthy this week.

“I do intend to file a motion to vacate against Speaker McCarthy this week. I think we need to rip off the band-aid. I think we need to move on with new leadership that can be trustworthy,” he said. “The one thing everybody has in common is no one trusts McCarthy.”
Other America-first House Republicans have also expressed anger at McCarthy after his dirty deal with Democrats that stabbed members of his own party in the back over their principled opposition.
“Instead of siding with his own party today, Kevin McCarthy sided with 209 Democrats to push through a continuing resolution that maintains the Biden-Pelosi-Schumer spending levels and policies,” said Rep. Andy Biggs (R-AZ) on X. “He allowed the DC Uniparty to win again. Should he remain Speaker of the House?”

McCarthy’s fellow Californian and predecessor as Speaker, Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) had his back, scoffing at Gaetz during her own appearance on “State of the Union” where she told Tapper, “You’re wasting your time on that guy, because he has no sway in the House of Representatives,” a perfect example of how one dirty hand washes the other when it comes to the uniparty.

McCarthy also hit the Sunday morning circuit, defiantly telling CBS’s Margaret Brennan that Gaetz can “bring it on” if he’s ready to rumble.

A potential problem with McCarthy’s allies moving against Gaetz based on the results of the ethics probe is that public faith has already been so eroded by the uniparty’s ruthless war against former President Donald J. Trump that it will be seen by many as just more of the illegitimate weaponizing of the process as a means to retaliate against political enemies.
