Rachel Morin, a mother of five, was brutally raped and murdered in August 2023 while out for a run. Victor Martinez-Hernandez, a 23-year-old illegal alien from El Salvador, was arrested in connection with Morin’s death and is being charged with first-degree murder, rape and kidnapping.
Morin’s brother spoke at the Republican National Convention about the consequences of President Biden’s open-border policies, a stance that resulted in a true-to-life invasion of 10 million-plus illegal immigrants in just over three years.
“Rachel, a joyful, accomplished athlete, and mother of five, was raped and murdered by a suspected illegal immigrant,” Michael Morin said. “Open borders are often portrayed as compassionate and virtuous, but there is nothing compassionate about allowing violent criminals into our country and robbing children of their mother.”
“Joe Biden and his designated border czar Kamala Harris opened our borders to him and others like him, empowering them to victimize the innocent,” he added.
CNN “fact-checker” Daniel Dale took the matter up to note that the accused killer and rapist had tried to enter the U.S. on three other occasions in 2023 and was expelled — as if this somehow excuses Biden’s reckless stance on the border.
“Rachel Morin’s killer was expelled from the US border on three entry attempts in 2023 before he succeeded in entering on a fourth attempt. I guess fair game to attack the Biden administration for the success on the fourth try, but there’s some context,” Dale opined.

The context being what? That the Biden administration at least tried to keep the criminal out? Never mind that an orderly immigration process that follows the law would be a strong deterrence to criminal aliens like Martinez-Hernandez from even attempting to enter the country.
Social media users were quick to utilize the selective use of context when it comes to liberal media propagandists.
Here’s a quick sampling of responses to the story, as seen on the social media platform X:
Can we use context on the other fact checks?

What context? Biden invited him here and then let him in, he committed murder. Another American is dead as a result of Biden’s failed policies. Pretty simple, unless you are a Biden apologist.

Narrator: Suddenly, context was important for Daniel Dale. https://t.co/PLD7Hzg2Y1

.@ddale8 provides “context” when he desperately wants to help @JoeBiden.
Lying litting weasel should be laughed out of every serious discussion. His dishonesty is profound. https://t.co/90qJTHZ8KU

It really makes more sense when you understand Daniel Dale and KJP have the same job. https://t.co/niM2ih3Q3e

Danny’s got time to wag his finger at a true statement about a woman’s killer being let into the interior by the Biden administration, but is back sipping a drink in the beach when Biden tells the “inject bleach” lie for the umpteenth time. https://t.co/gIoYG4vTxJ
