CNN just gave President Donald Trump an epic new nickname while trying to mock his crime crackdown.
Proving that they just don’t understand the culture, CNN’s coverage of the National Guard mobilization went sideways when an attempted insult was turned into a gift to the MAGA crowd.
Host Abby Phillip began the segment by derisively referring to Trump as “crimefighter in chief” and “Batman” following the federal takeover of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department.

“Donald Trump makes himself Batman and the nation’s capital is Gotham City,” she said. “The President of the United States has declared himself crimefighter-in-chief, and he’s taking over Washington’s police force.”
That sounds a whole lot cooler than the nap-taker-in-chief that America suffered through in the previous four years. You know, the guy who didn’t take border security seriously until he realized it was going to lose his party the 2024 election?
“It is a move that the D.C. mayor is calling unsettling and unprecedented. Now, Trump is painting it as an emergency; that D.C. is a hellhole,” she continued.
The comparison prompted a slew of pro-Trump X accounts to respond, not with fury, but with laughter.
“I already voted for him! You don’t have to keep convincing me!” Libs of TikTok posted.
“That makes President Trump sound SUPER COOL! Don’t think that was Abby’s intention at all,” theorized Steve Guest.

Talk radio show host Ben Ferguson pointed out that Democrats would rather be lied to by elected officials who sit by and do nothing while Americans suffer, rather than see the president step up to the plate and get things done. It’s just another example of how their Trump Derangement Syndrome is affecting their judgment.
