CNN touts Mexican flag as ‘defining symbol’ of LA riots

CNN has admitted that the Mexican flag — not the American flag — “has become the defining symbol” of the vicious riots in Los Angeles.

“Mexico’s green, white, and red flag has become a defining symbol of the protests in Los Angeles,” CNN reported Tuesday.

The so-called “protests” have been full-fledged riots.

“Demonstrators have waved flags from Mexico and other Latin American countries, as well as US flags, to express solidarity with immigrants and denounce the Trump administration’s [immigration] raids, provoking the ire of the president’s supporters,” the report continued.

The rioters only started flying the U.S. flags after images and videos of them flying the Mexican flag went viral and attracted backlash.

Of course, the question then becomes, why were they flying the Mexican flag to begin with? Aren’t they supposed to be Americans?

“[T]he waving of foreign flags speaks to the generations of people from Mexico and other Latin American countries who have called the US, and particularly California, home,” CNN noted, citing the words of some leftist UCLA professor named Raul Hinojosa-Ojeda.

That doesn’t answer the question. If anything, this seems to further suggest that conservatives have a point when they note that illegal aliens and their benefactors aren’t actually Americans.

“The flags mean their families. The flags mean their communities. It’s not about having an international invasion,” Hinojosa-Ojeda claimed.

So their communities are all Mexican? See the problem yet?

There’s even more evidence to back up the theory that these rioting “communities” are full of foreigners, not Americans.

It’s a fact that illegal aliens often send remittances to their home country. Earlier this week, Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum ranted about a provision in the “One Big, Beautiful Bill” (OBBB) that would increase the tax on remittances.

“If necessary, we’ll mobilize,” she said. “We don’t want taxes on remittances from our fellow countrymen. From the U.S. to Mexico.”

Many critics were quick to note the implication of Sheinbaum’s choice of words.

CNN isn’t the only leftist establishment outlet that’s been talking about the Mexican flag. So has the New York Times.

Laura Ingraham, the host of Fox News’ eponymous “The Ingraham Angle,” noted earlier in the week that the Times had framed the flag “as a proud symbol of protest.”

“[I]magine their response to a Confederate or Christian flag,” she added, referencing the Times’ known hatred for the southern confederacy and Christianity.
