It’s no secret that the so-called “fact checkers” are little more than partisan spinmeisters put in place to protect the agenda of the Democratic Party and one of them just got more than he bargained for.
In a brutal segment that should be required viewing for all Republicans as a clinic on how to deal with media deception artists, Rep. Mike Waltz (R-Fla.) dismantled a false “fact check” by CNN’s Daniel Dale and threw it back in the network’s face in a glorious smackdown on live television.
Dale, who was tasked with doing the network’s counter-spin for the Republican National Convention, claimed that Waltz was lying about the Biden administration’s push for electric tanks as a part of the overhaul of the military to make the armed forces compliant with the Green New Deal, a falsehood that CNN’s Boris Sanchez brought up while interviewing the former Green Beret.
CNN “fact checker” @ddale8 should actually CHECK HIS FACTs before going on live national television after my RNC speech and questioning my credibility about Biden‘s electric tanks! pic.twitter.com/mPx9Sm4RiZ

Rep. Waltz brought up Dale’s claims following his convention speech in which he said Biden is “focused on building electric tanks,” and Sanchez soon found out that he’d bitten off more than he could chew while attempting to perform mop-up duty for his truth-challenged CNN colleague.
Sanchez told the GOP lawmaker that “apparently” the tanks he was referring to “comes from this army climate strategy that said that they wanted to make tactical vehicles.”
“Wrong,” Waltz shot back.
“Let me fact check your fact checker,” he said, as he backed up his statement with the actual facts from a Bloomberg report that the Army was putting the electric tanks “on hold” as well as testimony from the Secretary of the Army and the budget showing the green investment. In other words, the actual facts that Dale couldn’t be bothered with looking up himself.
“So, I would just suggest that Daniel Dale sit down with the chairman of the Readiness Committee who reviews and approves these budgets, and has the testimony, and has the actual facts before he questioned someone’s credibility on national television,” Waltz said.
“He should do that before he publicly puts it. I mean, it’s forever on the internet, he said it on air,” he added. “And when we talk about misleading, he’s misleading the public, and so if he’s misleading on – I have all the facts, if he’s misleading on that, what else is he misleading on?”
Sanchez defended Dale, saying that finding the truth is a “process, it’s not as cut and dry as it may seem sometimes.”
“But, literally minutes after my speech, he’s telling the world that I’m misleading. There’s no way he could review the Army’s budget, the research and development, the testimony that I personally received under oath, or how about just Google and get the facts?” Waltz responded.
The congressman first reacted to Dale’s erroneous fact check with a post to X sharing an article from Inside Defense on the push to put the green tanks on the battlefield, a move based more on ideology than combat readiness.
“You can retract your ‘fact-check’ from TV last night on my speech,” Waltz wrote.

“The Army intends to field all-electric tanks by 2050, a top service energy and environment official told Inside Defense on Friday, but it will require major technological improvements to meet that target. The Army is optimistic it will have fully electric tactical vehicles by 2050, said Paul Farnan, principal deputy assistant secretary of the Army for installations, energy and environment,” the article states.
“The claim that Biden is focused on building electric tanks is false,” CNN falsely stated. “The Army released a climate strategy in 2022 that called for a move toward various kinds of electric vehicles, including “fully electric tactical vehicles by 2050,” but that would not include tanks. And, regardless, a strategy is not a mandate.”
There’s a very good reason why the majority of Americans now distrust and despise the mainstream media and its one-sided “fact check” schemes.
