CNN’s Van Jones would rather vomit than listen to praise for Trump

CNN’s Van Jones hates President Donald J. Trump so intensely that he would rather throw up than listen to deserved praise of one of the most influential leaders in the nation’s history.

On Monday, the former Obama administration official turned cable news pundit appeared on “AC360,” where the topic of a third Trump term was discussed, pure nightmare fuel for Democrats who are already going berserk over the prospect, even if it is currently barred by the Constitution.

Host Anderson Cooper led the conversation, which also featured political commentator David Urban, a former senior advisor to Trump’s historic 2016 White House campaign.

When remarks by conservative firebrand Steve Bannon that “there’s a plan” for a third Trump term came up, Urban dismissed Democrat hysteria but suggested that the current leader of the free world would still have influence over a JD Vance presidency if Republicans are able to retain control of the White House in three years.

“Steve Bannon mysteriously talks about, ‘We’ve got this plan.’ I don’t know what kind of plan you could have,” Urban said, explaining that the 22nd Amendment “seems pretty clear” in that it imposes a two-term limit on the presidency.

Urban then noted that Trump had earlier remarked that a team of Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio would be “unstoppable” if they ran together in 2028.

“I’m not sure if anybody would run against those two,” the president said while on board Air Force One as he traveled to Japan. “I think if they formed a group, it would be unstoppable.”

“And listen, let no one be fooled to think that Donald Trump is going anywhere,” Urban said. “He may not be president, but he’s gonna be sitting at Bedminster or in Palm Beach. Can you imagine if you are President JD Vance, and every day you wake up to a slew of Truth Social posts and tweets about Donald Trump and reviewing your performance from the night before?”

“Trump will remain large on the stage in American politics and global politics until he does not remain anymore. I mean, the guy is the Colossus at Rhodes and will remain that way,” he added, praising the nation’s 47th president as a titanic figure.

The high praise for Trump apparently came close to setting off Jones’ gag reflex, who was asked by Cooper, “Van, how seriously do you take these comments?”

“I’m sorry, I’m trying not to vomit on the air listening to this from Urban,” the Obama apparatchik replied.

“Are you envisioning the Colossus of Rhodes?” Cooper asked, needling his colleague.

“Just the whole thing, man,” Jones said. ” But look, I take it seriously just because there doesn’t seem to be very much respect for the Constitution, for the rule of law from this White House and from his people.”

According to the 22nd Amendment: “No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice, and no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of the President more than once,” which should render Democrat paranoia moot, but it won’t.

After Trump sprung the upset on the “unstoppable” Hillary Clinton in 2016, Jones infamously described the will of the people as a “whitelash,” suggesting that the political newcomer’s win was attributable to racism against his former boss, the nation’s first black president.

“This was a whitelash against a changing country,” Jones said at the time. “It was a whitelash against a black president in part, and that’s the part where the pain comes. And Donald Trump has a responsibility tonight to come out and reassure people that he is going to be the president of all the people whom he insulted and offended and brushed aside.”

To listen to Jones, some might be inclined to believe that, unlike Trump’s first election, his own personal animus is motivated by racial resentment. It’s enough to make one want to vomit.
