Columbia University students are losing their minds over an ICE recruitment event

Columbia University students are losing their minds over an ICE recruitment event that will take place on their campus on Feb. 18.

When they aren’t harassing Jewish students or supporting anti-Israel causes, Columbia leftists are coming together to sabotage an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) recruitment event posted by the school.

Columbia’s School of Professional Studies posted an ad for the US Customs and Border Protection virtual career expo on its website.

“Help defend the homeland,” it read, advertising openings for “mission-critical positions” at many Department of Homeland Security (DHS) agencies.

“This is a unique opportunity to learn more about our mission and how you could contribute to it, making a positive impact on yourself, your community, and your country,” it read. This triggered an epic meltdown from campus leftists, both students and faculty.

“Capitulation. Columbia is recruiting for ICE. Alumni write in now. Cancel donations,” wrote journalism professor Helen Benedict.

Demands that the event be canceled were immediate.

“This event undermines campus trust, makes parts of our community feel targeted or unsafe, and further damages Columbia’s public standing by reinforcing the view that we are complicit in the turn towards authoritarianism. Silence will be read as consent,” read a letter from a faculty coalition.

“Our university is not just complicit, it is actively facilitating the recruitment of people like Border Patrol Agent Jesus Ochoa and Customs and Border Protection Officer Raymundo Guttierez, the two killers of Alex Pretti,” raged the Columbia University chapter of the Young Democratic Socialists of America.

The promotional page was removed by the school on February 11th, but the event itself will continue.
