Boston Mayor Michelle Wu was serenaded with a chorus of boos and catcalls when she showed up at Fenway Park for the Red Sox home opener against the San Diego Padres on Friday.
Baseball fans expressed their discontent with the controversial Wu and Massachusetts Gov. Maura Healey – both of whom are Democrats – when they were introduced during the pregame ceremony, with jeers erupting and ringing off of the fabled “Green Monster” in left field.
“Communist!” shouted one member of the Fenway faithful as the booing reached a mighty din.

Footage of the crowd of 36,000 + fans on hand for the contest, showing their top elected officials how they really feel, went viral on social media with X users firing off their takes at the rude but understandable reaction to the dynamic duo who have rolled out the welcome mat for illegal aliens and taken a wrecking ball to Beantown and the state as a whole.

🚨 HOLY CRAP. Fenway Park just VICIOUSLY BOOED leftist Mayor Michelle Wu at Red Sox opening day, along with Gov. Healey

Boston Red Sox fans boo the Democrat Mayor and Governor as they are introduced at Fenway Park. If baseball fans in deep blue Massachusetts boo both Democrats, who the hell is voting for them? pic.twitter.com/Ypg5i2K9tU

Good, they suck. They are ruining Boston.
It’s dirty, unorganized, and businesses are struggling.
Healey and Wu are extremely out of touch.
It’s either stupidity or intentional. Either way, they need to go.

Baseball crowds tend to be more conservative than Democrat voter base. Not many illegal aliens; welfare recipients; unhoused; public school teachers.

Funny how democrat politicians are seemingly unpopular and even booed whenever they go out into the public. And yet, they kept getting elected and re-elected every time. Crazy how that works 🤷♂️

Neither of them should have been there. The day’s events had nothing to do with either of these idiots.

“The boos were loud. They were sustained. And they came from everywhere — not one section, not a handful of hecklers, but the full stadium. Both Democrats stood there and took it on live television while 37,000 Bostonians made themselves heard,” Mass Daily News reported.
“It was even louder in person!” Massachusetts Republican gubernatorial candidate Brian Shortsleeve wrote in a post to X.
Another GOP candidate, Mike Kennealy, wrote: “Man I love Red Sox Nation!”
In other Red Sox-related news, Fenway Park had to turn off replies for an X post featuring a nostalgic look at opening day when commenters complained that there were too many white people in the video.

Home cooking was the right recipe for BoSox fans as the team served up a satisfying 5-2 win over the left coast visitors, powered by home runs from sluggers Willson Contreras and Marcelo Mayer, snapping a five-game losing streak.
