Connection between husband of Biden campaign aide and Hunter Biden revealed: Report

Elizabeth Alexander, the communications director for first lady Jill Biden, is married to David Wade, a former chief of staff to John Kerry, who reportedly advised Hunter Biden as he was scrutinized for his position on the board of Ukrainian energy company Burisma Holdings.

Wade almost sounds like a fixer for Hunter Biden. His wife took a temporary leave in May to head the messaging arm of Biden’s re-election campaign.

He left the State Department in 2015 and founded a consulting firm called GreenLight Strategies according to LinkedIn. That’s when the connection to Hunter Biden came to light, according to a report by Fox News.

On Sept. 14, 2015, Wade allegedly reached out to Eric Schwerin, who is the president of Hunter Biden’s now-dissolved Rosemont Seneca Partners. He offered to help the younger Biden and his firm with “rapid response.”

“Eric: not sure if you’ve done any more thinking on your end, but I wanted to come back to you on what we talked about the other day,” Wade wrote in an email. “My sense is that the initial project would take me probably 30 hours or so to do the meetings/conference calls with you and Hunter and anyone else you thought could be helpful in the orbit to do the research and map all the potential issues that might come up and then I’d draft talking points and back-up documents and quotes – all the collateral documents – to have on hand as a playbook for rapid response – all the collateral documents we’d want – so that the team would be ready.”

For his sin-eating, Wade requested $10,000 for the initial project. The request was sent to Hunter Biden by Schwerin who told the president’s son that he and Devon Archer supported the proposal. Devon Archer served on Burisma’s board with Hunter Biden.

Hunter Biden and Wade had reportedly communicated earlier in the year when the president’s son told him that he had noted Wade was leaving the State Department to enter the private sector and that he was “always just a phone call away.”

“If you have time, I’d definitely like to pick your brain for advice,” Wade responded to Hunter Biden. “Elizabeth and I both look forward too [sic] catching up.”

Two weeks later, Hunter Biden appears to have been scheduled to meet with Wade on Oct. 1, 2015. That fact was revealed in an email of Hunter Biden’s schedule that was copied to Schwerin.

Another email dated Oct. 14, 2015, that was sent to Hunter Biden, Wade, and Archer, allegedly shows preparation for answering numerous questions from The Wall Street Journal.

“Hunter/Devon/David,” Schwerin said in the email. “Sending simultaneously to all for comments. Just wanted to do some if asked talking points that I would provide on background to the WSJ.”

“Thanks Eric. Great stuff, as always,” Wade replied. “My gut would be to tweak these slightly – and obviously if these don’t make sense for various reasons, I have zero pride of authorship.”

The parties involved were discussing how to craft a narrative explaining that Hunter was in the process of transitioning from the Burisma Holdings board after joining the Burisma Geothermal board earlier that year.

According to Fox News, “Two days later, Schwerin sent an email to Hunter and Wade discussing how they should respond to questions about ‘whether there is a conflict of interest with Hunter’s role on the Board vis a vis the VP’s policy.'”

“Hunter welcomes the scrutiny towards Burisma and its shareholders and is confident that they have operated in accordance with Ukrainian law,” a drafted statement read.

Schwerin emailed Hunter Biden, Archer, Sebastian Momtazi, who also had a Burisma.com email address, and Joan Mayer on Nov. 29, 2015, concerning Wade’s invoice “for his work related to the Burisma article, etc.”

“I think he’ll continue to work on that project as part of this invoice if it is required. Let me know what entity you think will pay for that,” Schwerin said referring to Wade.

“On Dec. 5, 2015, Wade was copied on emails between Vadym Pozharskyi, a top Burisma executive, and another consultant discussing ‘draft answers’ to an inquiry by The New York Times,” Fox News noted.

Fox News also reviewed visitor logs during the current Biden administration. Wade apparently visited the White House at least five times during the last couple of years. Three of those visits appear to be to larger events, including the annual July 4th celebration. Two of the visits, dated June 4, 2022, and Dec. 19, 2021, appear to be with an aide to First Lady Jill Biden. It isn’t clear with whom Wade was actually meeting.

Wade’s involvement in handling Hunter Biden’s business dealings surfaces after Fox News Digital reported that at least two of the Biden campaign’s national co-chairs, Democratic Rep. Lisa Blunt Rochester and Sen. Chris Coons (D-Del.) have past ties to Hunter Biden.
