New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani was raked over the coals for requiring “emergency snow shovelers” to provide paperwork when applying, but conservatives had the last laugh when they stepped up to answer the call.
Evidently missing the hypocrisy of his requirement for photo identification and other documentation, Mamdani issued his call for help as a blizzard descended on the Big Apple and much of the Northeast. What the socialist mayor likely didn’t expect was who would answer his offer, as conservatives delivered a hilarious response on social media.
“For those who want to do more to help your neighbors and earn some extra cash, you too can become an emergency snow shoveler. Just show up at your local sanitation garage between 8 am and 1 pm tomorrow with your paperwork,” Mamdani said at a press conference.

The Democratic Socialists of America, of which Mamdani is a member, have railed against “racist” voter identification laws, vowing to work to “educate working-class voters about the needless complications in our electoral system” as seen on their website.
“This is Jim SNOW 2.0,” quipped Fox News host Jimmy Failla in a post on X.

“To qualify as an emergency snow shoveler, applicants must provide two photos, multiple forms of ID, and a Social Security card. That’s a longer document checklist than what’s required to walk into a New York polling place and cast a vote that helps decide the future of the country,” KTSA radio noted. “In a state where voter ID requirements are virtually nonexistent for most residents, the city is now demanding more paperwork to push a shovel than to pull a lever.”
