An illegal alien currently in prison for the killing of a Michigan woman is suing President Donald J. Trump for using his case as an example of the criminality visited upon innocent Americans by foreign invaders.
Brandon Ortiz-Vite, a 27-year-old Mexican national, is serving a sentence of 39 to 102 years for the murder of Ruby Garcia in March 2024. The victim was engaged in a relationship with the violent thug when her body was found on the side of a highway in Grand Rapids. He was in the country illegally at the time of the incident.
According to investigators, Garcia and her killer were arguing when Ortiz-Vite shot her in the head, dumping her corpse before driving off in a case that made national headlines and got the attention of Trump, who branded the killer as “America’s problem” in a speech during a 2024 visit to the battleground state city.

Trump also featured his mugshot in ads, an example of “murderers, rapists, and drug traffickers” illegally living in the United States, Fox News reported.
Now Ortiz-Vite is suing the president for $75 million as well as demanding a public apology and U.S. citizenship in an outlandish bit of lawfare that will make him a hero with leftists. The killer’s handwritten complaint, which was filed in federal court, names the president and White House communications chief Steven Cheung as defendants.
The convicted killer alleges that being singled out by Trump subjected him to abuse from prison employees and other inmates who were mean to him.
“I was put into a category. Who I was as a person no longer mattered! What only mattered was my race, my case, and immigration status. Once again it belittled me, shattered my dignity and what I was as a person,” Ortiz-Vite wrote in the lawsuit, which was filed last week in U.S. District Court.
“The shame it brought to my family name is a reality I have to live with now,” the convicted murderer claimed. “I took full responsibility for my actions, but for them to use my case for political gain on T.V. was unjust. Humiliating. When I thought it couldn’t get worse, it did. I was center stage in front of a nation, public scrutiny at its finest.”
During Trump’s campaign, he spoke in Grand Rapids to highlight “Biden’s Border Bloodbath” and the vicious foreign miscreants that were allowed to enter the country under the disgraced former president whose open borders policies rolled out the welcome mat for gang members, drug dealers, rapists and stone cold killers like Ortiz-Vite.
“Under Crooked Joe Biden, every state is now a border state. Every town is now a border town because Joe Biden has brought the carnage and chaos and killing from all over the world and dumped it straight into our backyards,” Trump said in the April 2024 speech.

“It all became clear to me when I first met with my court appointed attorneys. They explained how my case had gotten blown out of (proportion) and was now a high profile case!” Ortiz-Vite’s complaint reads, according to The Midwesterner.
“The shock in their eyes and the tears from mine was reaction to my realization that I was living everyone’s worst nightmare! To be publicly infamous. A target! To the United States of America from here everything went downhill. I was now labeled a cold blooded murderer in the eyes of the people of this nation,” the convicted murderer added.
Former federal prosecutor and criminal defense attorney Matthew Borgula told Fox News Digital that the suit is unlikely to be successful.
“Federal law requires courts to screen prisoner suits before anyone is served. This complaint will likely not survive that screening,” he said. “Also, Presidential immunity covers official acts, and campaign statements can fall outside it — but this suit fails for more basic reasons.”
“As long as we have Democrats jetting to other countries to coddle criminal illegal aliens over margaritas, this level of arrogance and entitlement from convicted murderers will continue,” former Michigan GOP gubernatorial candidate Tudor Dixon told Fox News Digital.
“It’s time lawmakers stand with the Ruby Garcias of the world instead of her killer,” Dixon added.
