Cornell rape accuser’s three-letter text becomes new flashpoint — defense says it challenges her account

A new text from the “Cornell 7” accuser, “Jane Doe,” is being used by a defense team to question her claims that she was incapacitated.

The message, a simple three-letter response, was sent to Doe’s roommate, who was wondering if she would be back on the night of the alleged assault, according to TMZ.

“Are you coming home [tonight]?” the roommate asked at 3:05 a.m. on October 20.

“Idk,” Doe responded shortly after. While the response itself is not revealing any new information, it’s the timing of the message that one of the fraternity brothers’ lawyers believes is critical.

“The text exchange occurred somewhere between a half hour and an hour after she says multiple men were snorting ketamine off her body and she was so out of it she couldn’t process what was going on. One of the accused claims the texts show Jane was able to read, process, and respond … therefore she was not incapacitated,” TMZ reported.
