Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is not handling President Donald Trump’s second term well, accusing him of “holding all the nation’s hospitals and vital services hostage.”
Trump’s order to temporarily pause federal grant payments has Democrats in a doom-spiral. AOC shared her panic on X, even going so far as to declare this a “constitutional crisis.”
Look:
Trump is holding all the nation’s hospitals and vital services hostage to seize power from Congress and hand it over to billionaires.
We must state the truth: this is a constitutional crisis. It’s a massive, illegal power grab that the House and Senate have a sworn duty to stop.

“Trump is holding all the nation’s hospitals and vital services hostage to seize power from Congress and hand it over to billionaires. We must state the truth: this is a constitutional crisis. It’s a massive, illegal power grab that the House and Senate have a sworn duty to stop,” she screeched.
Fellow Democrat Sen. Chuck Schumer also immediately turned to fearmongering rhetoric to scare the American people, a tactic they used during the first Trump administration that was amplified by the mainstream media.
.@SenSchumer: “Last night President Trump plunged the country into chaos. “Last night President Trump plunged the country into chaos. Without a shred of warning the Trump Administration announced a halt to virtually all federal funds across the country, in an instant. Donald Trump has shut off billions, perhaps trillions of dollars that directly support states, cities, towns, schools, hospitals, small businesses, and most of all American families,” he cried. “This is a dagger at the heart of the average American family in red states, in blue states, in cities, in suburbs, in rural areas. It is just outrageous.”
“Funds for things like disaster assistance, local law enforcement, rural hospitals, aid to the elderly, food for those in need, all are on the chopping block in this new administration,” Schumer continued, doing his best “Chicken Little” impression. “Why? They need tax cuts for the ultra-wealthy and these cuts, they think, will find them.”
When in doubt, Dems always drag out old reliable: The “ultra-wealthy” boogeyman.
“Every one of our offices have been deluged with calls from people who are in panic. ‘What is this going to mean? What if I have a hospital that has people on life support? What are we going to do?'” the lawmaker continued. “And just like the January 6th pardons, this decision is lawless, dangerous, destructive, cruel. It’s illegal. It’s unconstitutional. I spoke to my attorney general this morning … they’re going to court right away on this horror. This, plain and simple, this is Project 2025 by another name.”
Unfortunately for Democrats, Americans see right through their tricks:
AOC you’re lying again.
Not one person is losing their medical benefits.
Lay off the stupid pills and get off X for a while.

That is not true, this is nothing more than the politics of fear on your part.
