Ted Cruz schools Eric Adams after dire warning for NYC: ‘Coming from Texas, it’s amusing’

New York City Mayor Eric Adams, a Democrat, admitted this week that illegal migration is destroying his town but stopped short of blaming the man responsible. In response, Sen. Ted Cruz, a Republican, slammed him and other Democrat governors and mayors.

Appearing on Fox News’ “The Faulkner Focus,” Cruz argued that what’s happening is the result of poor decision-making from the Democrat Party’s leaders, including President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer.

Listen:

“You’ve got Eric Adams, you’ve got the governor of New York, you’ve got the governor of Massachusetts, you’ve got the mayor of Washington, D.C., the mayor of Chicago, the mayor of San Francisco — all of them are discovering suddenly the burdens of Joe Biden’s open borders and illegal immigration, and they’re seeing thousands or tens of thousands or even hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants,” he said.

“And they’re discovering that it drives up crime rates, that it drives up the burdens on the city, it overcrowds the schools, it overcrowds the hospitals. And I gotta say, coming from Texas, it is amusing [seeing Adams complain]. We’ve had seven million illegal immigrants under Joe Biden. So seeing Eric Adams complain about 100,000 is cute, but he still doesn’t bother to put the blame where it belongs,” he continued.

“This is a political decision by Joe Biden, by Kamala Harris and, by the way, by Chuck Schumer. If Eric Adams wants to talk to someone, Chuck Schumer lives in New York City. He says, rightly, that illegal immigration is destroying New York City. Well, he could pick up the phone and tell Chuck Schumer to stop fighting for open borders, to stop protecting the Biden administration as they lawlessly open the borders,” he added.

The stinging remarks came a day after Adams publicly poured his heart out over what’s happening in the city.

Listen:

“Let me tell you something, New Yorkers: Never in my life have I had a problem that I did not see an ending to. I don’t see an ending to this. I don’t see an ending to this. This issue will destroy New York City. Destroy New York City. We’re getting 10,000 migrants a month. One time we were just getting Venezuela,”  He said.

“Now we’re getting Ecuador. Now we’re getting Russian-speaking [migrants] coming through Mexico. Now we’re getting Western Africa. Now we’re getting people from all over the globe [who] have made their minds up that they’re going to come through the southern part of the border and come to New York City,” he added.

“End everybody’s saying it’s New York City’s problem. Every community in this city is going to be impacted. We got a $12 billion deficit that we’re going to have to cut. Every service in this city is going to be impacted, all of us,” he concluded.

While it’s great that a relatively high-level Democrat has finally realized the enormous costs of illegal migration, the problem is that — like many other Democrats — he refuses to call out the man who’s ultimately to blame, President Joe Biden.

It’s Biden’s policies that have allowed the border to be overrun, with thousands (sometimes ten thousand+) of migrants/illegals being allowed into the U.S. on any given day.

That said, Cruz wasn’t the only one to slam Adams. So did plenty of Twitter/X users who also were impressed by his waking up to the realities of illegal migration, but disappointed by his inability to place proper blame.

But it gets worse.

Guess what Adams did on Thursday. He blamed his city’s migrant crisis on “Trump Republicans.”

Evidently, he’s learned nothing …
