Cuomo criticizes fellow Democrats for backing an incapable Joe Biden in 2024

Former New York Mayor Andrew Cuomo is trashing his own party over how the 2024 presidential race went down.

The re-election of President Donald Trump, who trounced former President Joe Biden and then Vice President Kamala Harris, still weighs heavily on the collective Democrat conscience.  The recently released “autopsy” of the 2024 election has dredged up a lot of feelings, including Cuomo’s opinion on the party’s decision to run Biden for a second term.

Speaking to WABC radio’s “The Pulse of the People,” the ex-mayor made it clear that the attempts to cover up Biden’s failing mental faculties weren’t fooling anyone, especially not eagle-eyed voters.

“[Biden] got on the debate stage, and it was obvious to everyone. You didn’t have to be a psychiatric or a medical professional to realize he was not up to the job,” he said. “Where was everyone? Where was the Democratic Party? Where was the chief of staff? Where were his strategists? … The man was incapable of doing another four years.”

The draft, coincidentally, failed to mention the incumbent’s clear and ongoing decline, Harris choosing Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as her running mate and the party’s tone shift on Israel following the October 7 attack. What it did mention was the ill-fated choice to put Harris in charge of the crisis at the southern border, while not doing anything to counter the narrative that she was blatantly ineffective, which Republicans had no problem seizing on.

It also questioned Biden’s team for not conducting a poll prior to announcing that he was dropping out of the race and endorsing his vice president. Cuomo pointed out that Harris’s list of public successes was so small that by the time she was put in the race, all people knew her for was being a lame “border czar.”

“What’s the federal government plan? There was none. That’s not addressed. What did the Biden-Harris administration do for the country? That’s what it’s about. … [Americans]  want results. That’s what they didn’t get,” he pointed out.

As BizPac Review previously reported, former Washington Post columnist Dana Milbank suggested that one of the many reasons the former vice president lost to Trump was “backlash against a black woman.”

“Why did Democrats lose? Well, it’s like Captain Obvious, right? Why did incumbent parties all around the world lose at that time? It was high inflation. And that was coupled with the problems of Biden staying in the race too long and the backlash against a Black woman being the Democratic nominee. There you have it. Pretty simple right there,” he said on ABC’s This Week.
