While Dan Bongino serving as FBI deputy director might be exactly what America needs right now, it isn’t a transition that comes without tears.
The podcaster choked up on the last episode of his show before officially assuming his role, calling it the “honor of a lifetime” to be able to speak directly to his listeners.

Today is my last show.
It’s been the honor of a lifetime to have the privilege of being on your radios, your phones, and in your homes, for a few hours each day.
It’s not easy to keep it together as I type this.

X users celebrated Bongino’s bittersweet transition:
True patriot. It’s so sad to see, but we’re also so proud. He’ll be back in a few years, I doubt he’ll want to be deputy director forever.

Can’t say I’ve been a diehard fan but I knew this was gonna be a loss for us. He has been instrumental in opening the eyes of many, and for that we should all be grateful.
